The ever so slight curve to the handle really makes holding the dumbbell that much more comfortable with no slippage. The collar spin locks hold the weights very secure. Much more than I thought since I'm not a fan of spin locks especially on dumbbells. I'm pleasantly surprised at how well they work. The only thing I didn't like about the set was the extra bar added to connect the two handles together. A great addition to the set, but the threads on the bar don't allow screwing the handles all the way in. This is depicted in the stock photos. No false advertising.
