The Mary Poppins of Insulated Bottles
This Duraflask Explorer 32 oz. water bottle is the Mary Poppins of all water bottles: “Practically Perfect in Every Way!” (OMG, do I have to pay somebody for that reference?) I’ve had and used all sorts of water bottles. Here’s why this one rises above all others.1. It holds 32 ounces! That’s one quart! I’m an iced-tea drinker, and this bottle gets me through an entire day with my favorite beverage.2. It keeps it cold! My tea stays cold all day long. Even overnight. When I haven’t finished my tea by the end of the day, the next morning my tea’s waiting for me on the kitchen counter. I pick it up, gently shake it, and sure enough, I hear the ice tinkling off the stainless steel walls. Now, let me convey the secret to keeping cold things cold in a bottle like this. The one part of the bottle, the “weak link in the chain”, is the cap. This goes for most all insulated bottles. The cap isn’t insulated, so it conducts heat and cold much more quickly than the bottle itself. With cold drinks, you can tell this when you leave the bottle on its side for any length of time. Pick it up and you’ll see condensation on the cap. It’ll usually drip off when you pick it up. EASY SOLUTION (no pun intended): just keep the bottle upright and don’t allow the liquid to contact the inside of the cap. Voilá! Cold drinks all day long.3. Easy to pick up and hold. The pop top that comes with it has a handy-dandy loop your fingers can easily grab. (I haven’t tried the other screw-type cap for hot things.) What’s more, the outside finish of the bottle isn’t slick. It’s a matte-type finish, making it much easier to hold than slick-finished products.4. It’s smaller than comparable 32 oz. stainless-steel bottles. For some time now, my “go to” bottle was one of those “oxidized-green” colored insulated bottles. (Won’t mention any names here.) But they’re just so much bigger and clumsier than this new Duraflask bottle, which fits in places the big greenie doesn’t, like inside my rolling briefcase (yeah, I’m a nerdy type of guy. I’m a teacher and tote stuff to and from school in my rolling-case). This new Duraflask Explorer is only a smidgeon bigger than most 16-20 ounce bottles, and it fits where larger ones don’t.5. It’s got a big mouth! For a water bottle, that’s a good thing. For years I’ve struggled with putting ice in my bottles. The necks are so narrow. No way is a normal, square-type ice cube going in there. Even the half-moon type ice cubes are difficult at times to force down the neck. Not with the Duraflask. Its wide, stork-like neck just swallows those cubes right down. In just seconds, presto, my bottle is loaded up and ready for a new day.6. It’s matte black. I mean, what more could a guy want for all those covert, black-ops missions behind enemy lines? No way are my adversaries getting my tea!Well...this review’s way long. Much longer than it takes to click “add to cart” and check out. Take my advice and Just Do It (oh, no, more money for referencing somebody’s swooshie symbol).

Great thermos. Decent price. Keeps water cold.
Nice rugged thermos. Due to budget cuts at work they removed our water cooler. The tap water tastes terrible, so I use this to bring home-filtered ice water to work. It fits right in my backpack's water bottle pocket and does a great job. It's also handy for keeping cold water while I play computer games or to keep by my night stand if I wake up thirsty. My solid black version looks good too! I had a question about how to switch out the cap with the attachment ring. The seller sent me back a photo diagram. Basically just grab the cap and pull straight up and the ring will stretch off the bottle without breaking. Ironically after trying the other cap I switched back to the screw on top preferring to drink more like from a glass. * * * * * !

It worked great!
This was a gift for my husband. He's 6'2" and drinks a lot of water. He knew what features he wanted in a water bottle: a liter (approx. 32 oz.) capacity, easy access to the water (not lots of screw threads), or ideally one with a covered spout, not too large in circumference, and a handle that didn't get in the way. These are the features we liked about the DuraFlask, but we also discovered a few more. He originally didn't want a double wall, because it would make the bottle too heavy to carry (he carries the bottle, hand wrapped around its circumference, on his 2-3 mile walks). Well the DuraFlask even with a double wall is light. With that, he also discovered that the water maintaining its cold temperature for a longer time than his old single-wall bottle as a real bonus! He kept telling me for several days in a row that he really liked it. He also likes the sleek black color. Great product!

Maintains temp. but awkward sipping position
I do really like my new Dura FlasK water bottle. I would like to list my pros and cons. Pros: It really does maintain cold liquids. I use it for ice water and the ice is still there after 24 plus hours. I also like the handle which is built into the top. Since the bottle body is wide, the built in handle makes it easy to hold, even with a single finger. The Cons: You must flip up the cover to take a drink from the spout. That cover is very difficult to "flip open". Also the steepness of the rim with the deep placement of the drink opening render it rather awkward in placement and I coughed with some water going down the wrong way a few times when taking drinks from this position. So now I just screw off the entire lid to take a sip. Another con, the other widow top is permanently attached to the lid, and just hangs there all the time. However, I guess for someone who always loses lids, this could be a pro. Overall, I do like this insulated container, mainly for its' fantastic ability to maintain the temperature of its contents.

Best Water Bottle I've bought
To start of with the evaluation of this product I firstly enjoyed the fact the package came fairly quick as well as the company contacted me and gave me updates on my product as it got to my house. The water bottle itself is amazing as its very durable and really keeps what ever liquid you have inside cold or if a drink is hot keeps it hot. The longest i've tested so far on how long it keeps its cold was 13 hours but i'm sure it could have gotten far longer I was just thirty. It also came with another lid if you did not want to have the large opening for drinking. I also found it helpful that the this company also contacted me once I got it to make sure i was enjoying my product and even provided instructions if I needed them on the usage. If I had to give a complaint it would be that I got one and now my mother really wants one now. Hopefully this helps anyone interested in purchasing.
