The best starter option for those who want to familirise with the violin
I have received the violin today and the package included case, bow, 1 Rosin (not 2), 2 bridge, spare strings, digital tuner, music stand and shoulder rest. Everything looks intact and definitely usable. This is indeed a very cheap option, and this is reflected in the use of materials and sound (we are not talking about a Stradivari). Neverthless, it works perfectly and it is a great way to start and practice to play it. Before spending loads of money, I thought it would be better to be sure if this was the right instrument for me, that is why I have decided to go for it despite some very bad reviews. To sum up: very happy with it!Little downside: some scratches and uneven colours on the surface, but I expected worse given the cheap price.

An excellent value bundle for a first time user.
4* because you get exactly what you pay for. It’s not the worlds best violin, but what should you expect. If you’ve never played before, it’s an ideal first time instrument.I’d recommend buying a better quality rosin, Whats included is pretty cheap (incidentally I only received one and it was half shattered), and perhaps buy replacement bridges, these feel far too flimsy. Before use, and before attempting to tune, I’d suggest putting rosin on the tuning pegs and end of the strings to hold them in place. All in all, it’s an okay instrument and kit - well worth the money for it’s needs.

Do not buy this product
it may seem nice cause of the price and what is included but the tuning pegs are completely useless, they either slide and don't hold the string at a certain note or they just snap the string.

It was rubbish
2 strings broke whilst trying to tune no instructions how to set up and no info about one to one tutoring and bow strings were twisted around catch.Overall massive let down.Have requested refund and return of item

Rosin up those pegs to keep a tune to have a great starter violin.
I bought this for my son who decided he wanted to take violin lessons his final year of HS. After his first lesson his teacher recommended that we buy/rent something of higher quality that would keep a tune. An internet search on how to keep a violin tuned produced some excellent results and decided to try putting some rosin on the pegs to help keep them in place. The rosin held those pegs and now the violin has been keeping perfect tune since I put the rosin on. I actually used a nail file to get some powdered rosin that could be placed in the hole where the peg sits as well as dusting the peg itself with the powder. I was quite amazed at how much of a difference this made and a little surprised that the teacher didn't know about this rosin peg trick.

Good starter violin.
Bought it to learn how to play the violin. So far so good. Seems to be good value as a starter violin.

Great value.
Let me start by it's a very low priced violin, then throw everything else you get in on top. I am amazed at what all came with this for the price. Even if I replace the violin later on I don't feel like I'm out anything with my purchase. A few things you have to do to get started. There was some wood chips inside the violin i assume from the manufacturing process, they shook out, not a big deal. I went ahead and unstrung the violin and put rosin on the pegs as well as on the bottom of the bridge. I restrung the violin to snuggish and slipped the bridge into place. I tightened a little at a time and straightened the bridge as needed and never had a single issue. My violin is now tuned repackaged and waiting patiently under the Christmas tree. Really everything that came with the violin seems to be decently made, I mean I wouldn't drop the case down a flight of stairs and expect everything to be great but who would? It's a nice clean little case. The music stand is great as well as the shoulder pad. The rosin is hard but with a few cross cuts with a knife as per the instructions it worked great. I was able to produce good clean notes within 20 minutes of opening the box, at first i didn't produce sound as other reviews said, however the bow just needed more rosin, also in the instructions. Now as i said before it's very low priced the finish quality is what i would expect to find in a middle school violin class where you know the instruments are going to get roughed up and it's soul purpose is to produce the right notes and teach with. There is no patterning to speak of, an odd unfinished area, and a cheap feel, however it doesn't need to look pretty to do it's job. I think this kit is a great value for the price and i hope my wife wears it plumb out as she learns how to play it.

Price would be amazing if product wasn't defective.
We bought this violin for my daughter, she wants to start learning how to play. Upon receiving the strings were kind of off the the side two strings on either side of the middle area where they go across (sorry for poor description don't know technical names) I figured it was because the strings needed to be tightened. I took it to a friend to tune and he couldn't get one string to tune so he took it to a music store, well turns out I should have just sent the darn thing back it needed so much work. The little thing that holds the strings up was cut wrong it was too thick on one side and cut lopsided, needed to be reshaped, the repair man said something else was too big,(can't remember everything or exacts), and the placement of the strings were done wrong and needed realignment. So needless to say what was suppose to be an amazing price for a violin turned out to be too much money for something I have to repair. I get the violin back Thursday won't know the cost to repair it until then,he said he'll try to keep it under $50. If I was in town and able to pick it up I would have picked it up and returned it, but I wasn't and he had started on some of the repairs immediately after he called me, so might as well just get it all done. The rosin came in broken bits (which wasn't too big a deal until now that so much is going into the violin),the other things we fine. But soooo disappointed that I even had to get repairs to begin with. They literally shipped me a very unusable defective product!
