Battling bamboo
This is the only product that seems to keep the bamboo at bay from the neighbors yard.

No roots shall pass
Super heavy duty!!!! No roots shall pass!!Used on two projects1. I have in ground raised bed 3 ft from fence where ivy was growing. The roots completely invaded the raised bed even through couple layers of garden cloth. I dug trench 34 in deep from top of the bed to block any roots2. I have small above ground raised bed that had weed blocker cloth underneath but the roots made a holes and got through the cloth. So I put this under it so the bed is sitting directly on the bamboo shield.

It works! Just plan ahead!
I got this barrier several months ago right before the spring/summer seasons. I have a large bamboo grove right behind my yard. I have lived at this house for about 2 years now and every season prior, I was fighting off the bamboo from creeping into my backyard. It was a constant DAILY battle to chop and dig it all up. The species has the very fast growing underground "runners" for roots so it spreads very quickly. I surrounded my entire backyard in the barrier (roughly 225 feet) and it has held strong the entire time through the spring and summer growth season. No sign of bamboo growth in the backyard. I did have a slight oversight... My back yard is a giant hill and the barrier is set at the bottom. The water drainage of my yard has been an issue because I essentially blocked all water flow underground.. I will more than likely have to install a sump pump to be able for my yard to drain and stay dry properly. the barrier works great! Just be sure to plan ahead for any water drainage within your yard.

Must Have If You Have Bamboo
The media could not be loaded. I have a good size yard with bamboos growing on most of the 3 sides of the backyard. Over the last 20 years, I bought numerous tools trying to maintain the backyard. The chore was dreadful, tiring and discouraging. 14 months ago I finally bought 2 huge rolls and have them installed by the gardener. I bought the 24 inch deep rolls. So far it had worked except the joint between the 2 shields. I am very pleased and would've give it a 5 star if the shield is more durable. Be careful with your gardening tools as the shield is thin and can be damaged fairly easily. I hope they would really last a hundred years.

This is the stuff!
This actually controls bamboo roots & shoots. 80 mil would be better, as in full control if installed properly (a couple of places online provide good guides for proper installation, like Bamboo Garden nursery in Oregon). But the 60 works if you keep an eye on clipping any stray shoots each year. Very helpful to have such a variety of lengths available.

Be prepared for a hard job
This did the trick for my raised bed, but you are in for a hard job getting it into the ground. It did the job but getting it into the ground was the hardest yard job I have ever done.

Block Intrusive Sabal Palm Roots
I bought this material to block intrusive two Sabal Palm root systems. I replaced older landscape plantings with caladiums last May. The caladiums flourished until September when they started to fail. I had excavated some of the palm trees roots but obviously not enough. The roots had grown under the mulch and over the bulbs causing the bulbs not to be able to send new growth upwards. The palms were planted in 1981 and are about 20-25 feet tall. I have just about finished cutting and digging out roots down to an 18" depth and out up to 6 ft from base of trees - no small feat. I plan to cut the Bamboo shield to put around the trunks about 12" off the trunk at a depth of 18". Once that is done I will replant about 100+ caladium bulbs that I dug up and hope they grow. The palm tree roots appear to grow out and down for the most part so I hope the Bamboo shield works to keep the roots deep under ground. Not sure if cutting all this tree root matting will damage the trees but they are larger than I would like so if I lose them I won't be too upset.

Easy to work with, doesn't tear.
We bought this to try to contain the bamboo that has marched across our lawn and is now getting in the area by our inground swimming pool. Last year the bamboo pushed the liner out of its track and we had to drain the pool, reconnect the liner and then fill the pool again. I never want to go through that again. We have high hopes that this bamboo barrier will work! I wish I had done it sooner.
