a good look into the amazing world of animation
imagine inventing Daffy Duck, he Roadrunner, Foghorn J. Leghorn, Yosemite Sam, Pepe La Pew. it's unbelievable what they did. not too much info on Chuck Jones personal life but good knowledge of what went into the production of the cartoons. Not surprisingly he also has a spectacular command of the English language that is somehow different

I love Chuck Jones' works, but the book is a letdown.
I am an avid fan of all of Chuck Jones great works. That being said, the book is fairly boring.Too much time wasted talking about office politics, ineffective managers, etc. The best parts of the book involved the evolution of characters such as Bugs Bunny, Elmer Fudd, etc.

Animator Extroadinaire
Like Tex Avery, Chuck Jones knows how to tell a joke! His autobiography is as whimsical as the characters that he created and/or supervised in his long association with Warner Brothers. His influence is seen in current animated shows such as "Animaniacs," "Histeria," and "TinyToons." So respected is Jones that many filmmakers have touted the importance that his work has had on their careers. The book is a delight to read, with its accompanying illustrations, as well as Jones's personal reflections on the development of his beloved characters. All of the highlights of his 50-year career are included here, with full details and interesting text.As one who shows no signs of slowing down, the octagenaric Jones will continue to delight present and future audiences with his superlative animated films.

An American genius takes us behind the scenes of creativity and sweat at Warner Bros.
Just how good was Bugs Bunny and frenemies in 6-minute films? Mr Jones takes us through the portal to meet the characters who collectively created our favorite animated characters. His humor and humility in his detailed nuts and bolts memoir kept me engaged and continually grateful.

Read, smile and learn.
Anyone who loved Bugs Bunny and the Road Runner will love this book. So will anyone who wants unpretentious insights into the creative process. There's power in the painted cells of animation that prevails over more serious endeavors, and Jones recalls how he and his crew captured it without taking the fun out of it. This book will get you turning to the Boomerang cable network and savoring "Looney Tunes" all over again.

A master, in his own words.
I will make mine the words of some other critics: many of the things on this book are not factual. not the truth as some would say. but it does not need to be. It's the world view of a man who entertained the world through rabbit, ducks and road runners. the view of a man who shaped entires generations with his cartoons. a man who made worlds of make-believe, its only fitting that his world view would be of make-believe also.

A Must Read for Fanatics
Never have I been more drawn-in (no pun intended) to an autobiography more than this one. The Man lives up to his legend. I've always been purely fascinated by his style, his sarcastic humor, his satire. Even from a very young age, if I saw his name anywhere in the credits, my eyes were glued to the screen. Not surprisingly, I purchased and finished this read the same day. I couldn't put it down.If you're a fan of his work, of comedy, of classic animation, READ THIS BOOK. An art professor would do very well to recommend this read to any of his students. And for those of you, like me, who just purely appreciate his art, it's a peek at the man behind the icons we love. These cartoons are him and his teams' inside jokes and we are all in on it now. It's an amazing read. Don't skip it.

Must-have for animation fans!!!!
This book is a must-have for fans of not just Warner Bros. animation, but animation period. This book is an autobiography written by Chuck Jones, one of the most popular animators of all time. The book records his early childhood to his later years around he wrote this book. He reveals what happened during the Golden Age of Animation at Warner Bros. and includes a great deal of his own humor. The book was in good condition with some of the sentences are highlighted, which might mean it was a study book. Overall this book is great and fans of classic animation should purchase it.

Rambling
It was difficult at times to see the linear progression of Jen career.A lot of his book seemed to deal with total irrelavencies. There is a lot about his work at Warner's which was of interest. The illustrations were too small.

a nice size and images are reproduced well
The book itself is OK, a nice size and images are reproduced well. I personally didn't find the author's experiences as interesting as his cartoons!

Animaniacs!
It's for animation nuts, which I'm not. Why did I buy the book? On a recommendation from a friend, so I would recommend it to animators who are interested in the practical tips of this art form.
