Mg 217 Medicated Coal Tar Shampoo 4 Oz

Years ago I had skull Psoriasis, tried various medicated shampoos with no results until I used MG217. Psoriasis problems come and go so was it coincident or actually MG217 helped? I can't tell but I am also afraid to stop using it. I continue to use it and have been purchasing this product from Walgreens; the only store that offers it. I saw slightly lower price online failing to realize it was only 4Oz, half the volume of the one sold in store. As a result, it cost me much more to buy it online than from the local Walgreens. Just go to local Walgreen if you need to buy this product.

Nothing special here. It smells like you paved roads all day when you use this and it really doesn't work.

I have psoriasis on the left side of my head only. I finally went to a dermatologist for a diagnosis. Got so tired of itchy, flaky, scratchy scalp, and powdery flakes everywhere. I was given a cortisone type "Chlobetasol" foam after I turned down a prescription that was $600. That works, if one uses it all the time. But I wondered if I should be using that and it left a residue in my hair, not to speak of the risk of my hair falling out. So, I read reviews and tried this product and after about a week, my problem was over. I color my hair and it does affect/gradually strip the color, but I really don't care. I just let my color fade. Best news is that the itchy flaky situation is no more. If you are going to try this, it will work, so buy the 8 oz bottle. This product is better than the Neutragena coal tar products. It actually has conditioners in the shampoo. So, I do not use standard conditioners any more. I just wash my hair with this and leave it on a few minutes and use a scalp massager on the areas. It works. Hope your experience is as good as mine has been.

Yup, just like the bottle says. Works well for dry scalp issues like dandruff or psoriasis. Not exactly sweet smelling, but it does the job as well as any shampoo and much, much better than most. I buy it.

I had trouble with scalp scaling and flakes. Tried several different shampoos and used this one on a recommendation from a relative. After using it about two or three times, the symptoms started to disappear. Will probably use it until it's gone. Note: the small bottle sufficed.

My daughter has horrible skin and it even affects her scalp. We tried everything even expensive trips to the dermatologist. Nothing worked!! A good friend suggested MG217 and within 2 days it was remarkably better. She now uses this several times a week to just keep it under control.

Walgreens stopped carrying MG217 after I had *finally* found something that worked well for me. This stuff is amazing. It is 2-3 times more powerful than the "Extra Strength" stuff like Selsun Blue and Head and Shoulders. The stuff doesn't smell great, but use a good conditioner afterward and you're fine.
