Really does the job!
At first I found it to be dusty but once I put it in place and didn’t have to move it the problem was solved. Best product I have used for odor control. I would highly recommend buying this

This stuff actually works!
This stuff actually works! The typical smells that are in houses without adequate forced ventilation disappeared in a couple of days after strategically placing these zeolite rocks. I tested them in my work boots and gym shoes and about a half-day later, no smell at all. Granted, I'm pretty sure there was some type of smell in my shoes, but there was no stink, sweaty, musty odor. Usually I'd have to buy shoe sprays, but not anymore. I was very surprised to see that zeolite works. I read that they're used in hospitals, so I figured there must be some efficacy if hospitals use it. It's also cool that you can reuse it by just placing it outdoors in direct sunlight for a few hours.Make sure to give it a day or two and use enough packets to do a good job; don't expect miracles within a few hours. Also, bear in mind that your olfactory nerves (in your nose) have a sort of memory or homeostasis, so if you believe this stuff isn't working, give it a few days to (depending on amount of odors that need to be removed) because you may just be 'remembering' the odors or you may just be used to the odors. Also, help this stuff to work by providing adequate ventilation.

This is a champ at deodorizing cigarette smoke stench from books!
I ordered a couple of texts directly from the author, a chain-smoker who stored the books in the office where he smoked. I needed these texts immediately for a course but the stink made me nauseous. Time was of the essence and liquid products could not be applied to the pages. I would ordinarily just hang the books (draped over a metal clothes hanger) with a shop fan blowing over the pages. Eventually the smell would dissipate enough to use.In this case, I used a large Rubbermaid tub, a small electric room fan, and a couple of metal coat hangers. The hangers hooks went through the lid of the tub, the fan was placed at the bottom of the tub, power cord snaking out under the lid, the pair of mesh bags of deodorizer were suspended under books draped over the hangers. The fan ran at the middle setting to avoid ripping up the pages.Over a four-day weekend, the odor was nearly gone. Volume I was removed and used in class. Volume II was left until needed. Then Volume I was returned to the tub for additional treatment. Friends who are vehement non-smokers (or ex-smokers) could not not detect so much as a trace of the cigarette smoke. Two thumbs-up from this old boy!

Works but...
They do absorb smells; however they leave white flakes everywhere, even after washing. I place them in my car under the seats. I do have to place a small towel under them to collect the white bits that fall out. Also, one of the bags was torn so I used zip ties to repair the hole. Could find the same type of rocks cheaper.

Not like Jack's beans at all...
I had high hopes for these, but alas they didn't work. I thought surely if Jack could grow a mystical beanstalk with beans I could get rid of odors with rocks; sounds legit. I tried with all my might to make the magic rocks work. I locked them up in a box with some picture frames that smelled bad (and I told them they couldn't come out for a month!) and got no results. I left them in a small space and wished with all my might that they would remove a little bit of odor - that didn't work either. I tried hanging them in a closet (I left the door ajar thinking that maybe they were afraid of the dark...) but the rocks ignored the mild unpleasant odors from spouse's shoes. These rocks are deceptively stubborn, or.... they're just rocks and perhaps rocks don't eliminate odors. I dunno. What I do know is that I tried these after seeing a library recommend them for removing odors from books. I would not recommend Gonzo Odor Eliminating Rocks to anyone, for any reason. Sorry Gonzo. To be fair, I have the world’s most sensitive nose.

These rocks actually work.
I was skeptical about these rocks doing much of anything!Believe the good reviews, these rocks do absorb odors. I ordered the two bag special. For my applications, I used one bag in an area where we have a litter box. In the other application I left it in a vehicle that suffered from a wet/ old water smell. If you are a cat owner and are always fussing with air fresheners or other items to spruce up a litter box area give these rocks a try. We have our litter box in an enclosed area but after a few days even with good litter and litter additives some of the smell would inevitably escape and linger in the area. These rocks have absorbed a lot of the linger smell of a litter area and I am very happy that I found them. These rocks also helped clear the air in the car as well. When I opened the bag there was a little white dust so I opened them outside, gave em a little shake and used a cardboard piece on the bottom to move them around but most of the white dust was gone after a few outside shakes so it has been very manageable and once you place them where you want them you don't have to fuss with them much.I'm not sure how long they last, I read that you can recharge them outside under sunlight for a while but I haven't had to do that and they have worked for me really well. I've told other cat owners about these rocks as well and would recommend them to others with pets or with other household odors!

Works like magic
I had a handmade wool rug that was sealed in storage with mothballs. When I unwrapped it, it REEKED. I tried every trick in the book (baking soda, vinegar, vodka, Febreze) and nothing worked to get the smell out. The rug stunk up the entire house, despite being professionally cleaned before it was sealed up for storage. I tried these bags of rocks as a last resort. I was amazed. I put a few bags around the rug and waited a couple of days. I didn't notice a difference, but then I picked up one of the bags and it reeked like the rug, but almost more concentrated. I realized the bags were soaking up the smell and were literally saturated. I've been putting them out in the sun every couple of days, and then back to the rug. The smell is fading away quickly now. It's amazing.
