I have bought 5 other Kavaj case covers for myself and family members. They are excellent products that have served us well.With the release of Apple's newer iPad Pro models, Kavaj had to change the case design to incorporate Apple's newer technologies. In the past, the iPad was held in place by sliding it into a sleeve with a large cut out. The edges of the cutout protected the bezels. Think of the iPad as a TV screen with a leather bezel protecting the edges. The iPad was secured by a Velcro flap that wrapped around the machine and held it securely.With the development of thinner bezels and the iPencil charging, Kavaj had to change its approach to secure the iPad. Gone is the leather bezel around the edges with the Velcro flap. In its place are hard shell corners that allow the iPad to securely snap into place. The pencil can rest on its charger.What I like most about the Kavaj Berlin case is that its sturdy, beautiful, and lightweight. It's perfect for using the iPad in bed or in a chair when I don't need a physical keyboard. So, the Kavaj Berlin is the cover I use most.When the need arises for a physical keyboard, I unsnap the Kavaj case and use Apple's keyboard folio. The problem with the Apple folio is that when not using the keyboard, it's a hassle to try to comfortably hold the iPad. The keys and hard surfaces necessary for a study keyboard set-up don't lend themselves to just relaxing with the iPad.Thanks to the folks at Kavaj I use my iPad daily and keep it safe from accidental drops (smooth glass and metal not easy to hold for long periods) and travel safely with my iPad.

I went through many an iPad cover looking for the one which would fit our lifestyle. And found KAVAJ. I had shied away from it from some reviews in December which were show-stoppers for me, regardless of how good the cover may have been. A few weeks later I reviewed it again and noticed reviewers saying the issue of the iPad falling out of its case had apparently been resolved. Still a bit unsure, I ordered it. And am I glad I did! This case is strong, beautiful, functional, and most of all, meets our needs! I needed a case which would allow the iPad to stand in landscape mode taking up as little space as possible. The KAVAJ does! Although I’ve only had it 2 weeks, I think I’m in love! Great case, nothing negative at all. And no, I’m not related to the company in any way; just love this product!

I hate writing a poor review for this company as I really like them, but this case should not be purchased until this fatal design flaw is corrected.I originally bought the Hamburg model for for my iPad 2 - best case I ever owned. Multiple positions, great feel, durable, smart and elegant. Kudos! I was hoping for the same level of experience in this case for my new iPad Pro 11".The fatal flaw is that the corner of the case does not come up over the iPad near the camera. The iPad falls out and it puts it at risk - therefore, its core function, to protect the device, is largely useless. One star, I'm afraid.The second design flaw is that they did away with the strips of the Hamburg, so there aren't various open positions for viewing, and the one they do offer is both awkward and precarious at best.The feel of the leather is good, as always, and the promptness by which the company responded and promptly gave me a full refund shows clearly the level this company strives to operate, so I really do not relish a one-star review - I do believe they are top-drawer.Kavaj was prompt, polite and professional in dealing with my concern. They are apparently already aware of it, as they sent me a video link on how to press the one corner over the iPad such that it grips better; however, no amount of massaging caused the case to come up over that corner and stay, so it did not work.So, two design flaws, one critical - I have to recommend not buying this case until they address these concerns, or at least the critical one. Not worth losing an iPad over because it slips out -******* UPDATE *******Kavaj did fully refund the purchase, so I continue to think this company is great.I should note that I am a user of the Apple Pencil, so I understand why they made their design decisions. Frankly, I don't know what I would do better. That said, the iPad still falls out of the case far too easily, making it still a recommended not buy! They've got to solve this issue -

This is my fifth KAVAJ case for my fifth iPad. Early on I tried other cases of various designs and materials before discovering KAVAJ. It works perfectly for me. Very functional, very well made, great feel, holds the iPad securely, never wears out, and the leather adds a touch of elegance but then it is a little more expensive than other cases.

This case looks and feels great! Those are its best qualities. But be aware that it doesn’t lock the screen when you close it. Prepare to have an empty battery if you don’t press the lock button before closing. Also it’s system for view mode and type mode is not very efficient. Slips and falls a lot.

Great quality. My third case. Superb packaging and presentation. Perfect leather. My only concern as someone else pointed out is that it does no seem to firmly grasp the iPad in place. I tried touching the borders lightly and it is possible displace it from the borders quite easily. Hopefully it will stay in place. Other than that, much better quality than other cases in the market. And I had problems with one in the past and the company was super responsive.EDIT UPDATE, the company has been amazing taking care of my concern. Up one star

Das ist meine mittlerweile 4. Case von Kavaj und obwohl ich immer super zufrieden war, war ich aufgrund der gemischten Rezensionen dennoch skeptisch, ob ich überhaupt wieder zu Kavaj greifen solle. Ich habe es getan und bin bisher sehr zufrieden mit der Entscheidung.Optisch ist die Case wie immer ein absoluter Hingucker. Das iPad rastet ohne Probleme ein, die Magneten halten den Deckel am iPad bomben fest und die Aufstellwinkel finde ich im Vergleich zur alten Berlin-Case des iPad Air 2 viel besser. Der flache Winkel, der mir beim iPad Air 2 zu flach war (weswegen ich damals dann die Hamburg-Case nahm und zunächst sehr traurig war, dass es diese nicht mehr gibt), ist nun etwas steiler und somit meines Erachtens viel besser. Man kann so bequem tippen oder ihn zum Surfen u.ä. auf dem Sofa oder am Tisch bestens nutzen. Der steile Aufstellwinkel passt auch bestens, vor allem zum schauen von Videos. Toll ist auch, dass es nun an der Lasche an der Rückseite eine kleine Aussparung für den Finger gibt. Somit ist es viel einfacher als früher die Standfunktion einzurichten.Einzig den schlechter gewordenen Rahmenschutz finde ich nicht so gut wie bei den alten Cases. Jedoch ist das wohl tatsächlich der neuen Bauweise und der Magnetfunktion für den Pencil geschuldet. So sind die Ränder und der Rahmen nun nicht mehr so gut gegen Stürze geschützt wie früher bei der Variante, bei der man das iPad in die Case hineinschob. Wobei man meines Erachtens die kurzen Seiten des iPads durchaus hätte mit schützen können und nur die lange Seite mit dem Magneten für den Stift hätte freilassen können. Zweiter kleiner negativer Punkt ist das höhere Gewicht der Case. Aber ich finde die ca 200g durchaus noch im Rahmen.Alles in allem bin ich super zufrieden mit der Case und kann sie nur jedem weiterempfehlen. Sehr stylisch und praktikabel und den Preis finde ich durchaus angemessen. Meine alte iPad-Case hat’s nun 5 Jahre mitgemacht und wenn das hier wieder so sein wird, passt der Preis total!

Ich habe mich wieder einmal sehr gefreut, als ich dieses Case für mein neues iPad auspacken durfte.Dieses Seidenpapier zum Schutz des Leders verrät schon, dass hier Produzenten mit Herz bei der Sache sind.Das Leder riecht gut und fühlt sich gut an. Es befinden sich keine größeren Unregelmäßigkeiten im Leder, was zb für eine alte Verletzung des Tieres sprechen würde. Das Leder ist schön glatt und wirft keine Falten.Mein ähnliches Case von Kavaj für das iPad Air geht nun nach sechs Jahren in Ruhestand. Ich habe die Hülle sehr geliebt. Das iPad sieht noch aus wie am ersten Tag. Das Leder selber hat ordentlich gute Patina bekommen. Es wurde nicht geschont und oft musste das Case als Kaffeetassenuntersätzer herhalten.Das iPad Pro scheint durch die „Klammern“ gut zu sitzen. Ich hoffe nicht, irgendwann böse überrascht zu werden. Leider springt Kavaj auf den gleichen Zug wie alle Case Herstellen und auch Apple selber auf: Die Hüllen für das Pro werden entweder durch einen Magneten auf der Rückseite gehalten oder wie hier durch einen unvollständigen Rahmen. Eine Tasche zum einschieben und zumindest vollständigen Schutzes des Frontrahmens wäre mir lieber gewesen. So wie es beim iPad Air war. Eine Aussparung für den Apple Pencil hätte gereicht...nun gut. Dieses Produkt hier ist aber, wie es ist, Top.Magnete für den Deckel sind stark genug um diesen nicht ungewollt zu öffnen. iPad schläft beim schließen zuverlässig ein.

Primero de todo, quiero felicitar a Kavaj por su atención al cliente y por sus extraordinarios productos. Hice una consulta al vendedor a través de Amazon y en unas horas ya tenía la respuesta (5 estrellas). También quiero agradecer a Amazon por su rapidez y gestión en la compra y envío. Como siempre, 5 estrellas.Mi anterior funda Kavaj fue el modelo “London” para mi iPad Pro 10.5. La protección que dio la funda al iPad, la calidad del cuero, del cosido y acabados fue de 5 estrellas. El único pero a la funda por así decirlo, era que le faltaba un poco más de solidez a la parte trasera. La hacía muy fina y ligera, pero para mi gusto le faltaba algo más de grosor como sí lo tenía la tapa.He adquirido la funda Kavaj modelo “Berlín” para mi iPad Pro 11”. Me he decantado por este modelo y no por el modelo “London” pues la tira que lleva el modelo “London” no la necesito pues el Pencil se sujeta con el imán del iPad. Quisiera decir primero de todo, que el nuevo diseño del iPad Pro 11” con marcos pequeños y con el Pencil en el lateral, ha hecho cambiar el diseño de las fundas Kavaj. Y tal diseño me gusta más, pues deja todo la pantalla libre sin cuero que la bordee como antes. Quisiera también decir, que leí mucho antes de comprar la funda las opiniones de otros usuarios, y no de España precisamente sino de fuera, que compraron la funda al poco de salir el iPad Pro 11” y que se quejaban que las pestañas del iPad no lo sujetaban bien y que la función que apaga o suspende el iPad con la tapa fallaba.Mis impresiones después de adquirir y probar la funda “Berlín” son las siguientes: La calidad de la funda de cuero es innegable. Los recortes y cosidos están bien acabados. La parte donde se coloca el iPad es de plástico duro y lo considero muy acertado porque refuerza el iPad por su parte trasera dándole solidez y dejando libre la pantalla sin bordes de cuero. El iPad encaja a la perfección y no se sale del soporte. De hecho cuando pones el iPad, oyes como hace un “clic” encajando en la funda. Las dos posiciones en las que puedes poner la funda, para escritura y para monitor, se aguantan bien, sobre todo esta última pues el iPad no se cae. Y en cuanto a la tapa, su imán es potente con lo que la función suspender el iPad al cerrar la tapa se hace a la perfección; no falla. De hecho, cuando vuelcas el iPad hacia abajo, lo zarandeas y la tapa no se separa pues el imán la sujeta. Y como último, cuando giras toda la tapa y la pones completamente hacia atrás queda prácticamente plana. El único pero a mi gusto, es el forro de la tapa. Es un poco áspero a diferencia del forro de las fundas de Apple y la pelusa cuesta un poco más de sacar.Kavaj se ha reinventado para adaptarse a Apple en el nuevo diseño del iPad Pro 11”. ¡Excelente funda que recomiendo!

The two guys at KAVAJ are definitely churning out quality products. This is the second iPad cover I have purchased from Kavaj and they seem to get better over time, once the leather has a chance to soften up and settle in. The Cognac-Brown colour is rich and expensive looking. Good quality cover that is worth the price you pay.
