Definitely controls odors ...
The look of this cat litter is quite different from the usual "fine grained" clay litter. The "bits' are much larger -- It took a few days for my cats to get used to this. I think they were a little uncomfortable with the "feel" of it, but they got over it fairly soon. I mention this because the difference might cause your cat to resist using the litter box, too. Yes, we had a couple of "messes," but I stuck with it, and they're totally fine with it now. That said, this stuff really does suppress odors. I usually try to scoop the box at least once a day, but I do sometimes let it sit overnight. With my old litter, I would start to get a whiff of the odor the next morning; not so with this stuff. It's more expensive, but it might be worth it in the long run. My cats have had allergy problems in the past with clay litters, including unscented, and even some "all-natural" non-clay litters. So far, I've seen no signs of the usual allergy issues with this stuff. That alone will make this worth the expense.

Meh, it stunk
We bought the Next Gen Pet Green Tea Leaves Cat Litter 5.5 Pound Bag because after searching the internet high and low, we found a few suggestions that the product was one of the best for limiting litter tracking, and reducing smell. The product itself smells like tea and wood shavings, a pretty pleasant smell. The individual grains were about 1/8 inch diameter. The litter did not hold or reduce the urine and feces smell from an topless, large, 1 cat litterbox. There also was tracking. We pretty much do not expect there to be some tracking, but it was a bit more than what we see with the corn based litters. We used the litter for a month during summer in an open air room, we scooped everyday, and the litter did little to hide the waste smells. We tried adding baking soda to the litter, and while that helped, it seemed the litter didn't include the best odor control. We switched back to silica litter because of the odor control, if it was better at the odor control, we would have continued purchasing it. However since this litter is too expensive to continuously purchase from the east coast without a major odor control improvement over other litters, so we decided it wasn't worth the purchase.

Very Good Stuff!
I used this litter about 5 years ago with a pair of elderly cats who didn't mind the change from standard clumping litter to Green Tea Leaves Cat Litter. I love the fragrance and it seemed to work very well - the older cats didn't mind the change and the litter was working in a single very large litter box used by both of these cats. Now I have purchased a single bag in hopes that I can get Mr. Picky Pants (not my 5 yo cat's real name) to switch to this wonderful litter; have been using a pine pellet litter all of this cat's life since it was cheaper and easier to find locally. I'm gradually adding more of the tea litter in hopes that he too will like this litter. Also, it is less painful to step on barefooted on a linoleum floor than the pine pellets occasionally kicked out of the box.

This cat litter is able to control some odor however ...
This cat litter is able to control some odor however a lot of dust and tracking all over, clumps and gets stuck on the bottom for urine. Its ok but one bag will only last one month and I only have one 1 year old cat. You have to clean the litter box every 3 days or there is a strong urine smell. The pellets and the poop can be sometimes hard to separate.

Green Tea Leaves Cat Litter
I have used this litter for 6 years. Its nice and light and I do like the smell. But it IS dusty. And I would never flush it down the toilet. I dump in the woods when the box needs cleaning. The more diligent you are with scooping the longer it lasts- probably just like the other brands!

Our cat prefers this
Boris likes this greentea litter in his litterbox much better than the corncob based stuff. This catbox filler is pretty good with odor control, not too bad when it comes to tracking, is lightweight, clumps well in just a few minutes, is natural so cats don't ingest chemicals, is not dusty like clay, is not strip-mined like clay, biodegrades, and best of all... the dern cat uses it!

Not happy with this product.
I wanted to try a different kind of litter for our two cats.I liked the idea that it was biodegradable. The product smells good, and is quite a bit lighter than clay based products. The litter is not scoop able and our Maine Coon Cat tracked the litter all throughthe house, not just outside of the litter box. We will not be buying this product again.

OK but not the best
Liked it at the time, but found another brand that is more efficient. There is a lot of the litterthat sticks to the cat paws and a lot of waste when disposing of the used litter.
