Worth the money, and the time.
I bought this largely to have a way to practice while it's too cold to fly outside, and to give some larger planes and quads a try. While pricey, this is a whole lot cheaper than crashing a plane or quadcopter repeatedly into the ground. Despite the five star review, this isn't an "everything is perfect" review. Here are my thoughts:Graphics: Decent. Not perfect, occasionally pixelated, even at the highest settings, but good enough to maintain orientation, which is what's critical. From what I've seen, RealFlight has slightly better graphics, but a totally different set of models.Model Accuracy: I chose Phoenix over RF primarily based on the available models. The good news is, a number of planes I really wanted to try out are, in fact, included. The problem is that at least one of them is nose-heavy almost to the point of unflyability in the sim. I got some help from a member of the RCGroups community to fix that, and now it's quite flyable. (For reference: move the center of gravity on the Apprentice to -0.01, and move the "scale" setting up near 100. Then it's pretty close to the real thing, apparently.) Other models seem to be pretty accurate.Stability: Excellent. No software failures at all, and I've been running it a couple hours a day on three different computers. (Yes, you can do that, but only on one at a time: the cable also has a key-matched dongle, so it has to be plugged in for the software to run.)Function: Excellent. It's a simulator, so it's not exactly like really flying an RC plane, but it will teach you a LOT about maintaining orientation, muscle-memory for making fine adjustments, and the functions of the four major controls. I've been trying out a lot of aerobatic maneuvers that I wouldn't yet try with a real plane: wingovers, hammerhead stalls, rolls, inverted flight, and a few attempts at more complex things like barrel rolls. A few of those (inverted flight, especially) can lead to major damage to a model if you screw it up, costing you a lot in new parts. In the sim, you just wait a few seconds and the plane is back on the runway, ready to go.On the whole, this was well worth the money. I've gotten a few friends to give it a try who were previously too nervous to try taking one of my planes up. As an added bonus, the DX4e it comes with can act as a buddy box with the older DX7 I already had, so once they're a little more confident I can get a plane up high enough for them to try flying without having to worry about takeoff and landing.

I thought this was like all the other simulators
I am new to this so take it for what it's worth. I bought a quad copter a while back and had quite a time with it. My son has this simulator and had me try it. I thought this was like all the other simulators. It has helped a great deal flying my quad. It's the same controls. This darn thing is a lot of fun. Some of the games or tests on this has been great fun flying against my son . If you can get as much laughter from something else. By all means buy it. There are a ton of planes to fly. The helicopters are something else. There is also a flight recorder on this thing. You can record your flight and then watch yourself or follow yourself in another planes. I tried this. It was painful how I fly. The updates are great also. There is a lot more than what I have hit on. A lot more. Good luck flying and have a great time with this simulator.

Really fun to use
Really fun to use. Not easy for a novice though. But that's the good part...learning a new skill. I intend to build a plane someday and I can't imagine learning in real time. This simulator is perfect. I crashed so many times that I can't imagine what crashing a real plane would do to my ego as well as my finances. I think I have a better chance of success by getting proficient with the simulator. The tutorials are well done and give a sense of excitement that I may be able to do those aerobatics too. The R/C is very basic of course, but it works perfectly for its intended purpose.

The set up was easy and all components worked as advertised
My New Toy!!!! I am a newbie at R/C Airplane flying. My purpose in getting this was to learn the controls of R/C Flight without crashing a physical plane. My first couple of days I crashed a lot. I have since learned to take off and land thanks to this program. As I continue with the "flight training", I look forward to actually flying a physical R/C plane. The set up was easy and all components worked as advertised. This was received in the time promised.

While the Delta Ray is part of the simulator, the SAFE features are not.
Phoenix R/C Pro Simulator V5.0 w/DX4e I purchased the Phoenix R/C Pro Simulator V5.0 w/DX4e ... specifically so that I could learn the SAFE features that are part of the Delta Ray rc trainer--. While the Delta Ray is part of the simulator, the SAFE features are not.

It was an excellent experience. Since then I've had about 6 hours ...
Returning to the hobby after a 25-year lay-off, this is a MUCH cheaper way of re-learning the skills. After running about the flying field with a trainer for 10 minutes or so and making a few hops on and off the runway I seized the day and actually took off. I deliberately didn't try to make the plane survive, I just wanted a feel of the reactions to the controls. I crashed 4 times just for the experience. The on the 5th run I decided that I was going to put in a bit of work. Boy, did I sweat! I had the same tense feeling I remember having when my plane's rudder hinges broke nearly 30 years ago. I was successful then in getting the plane down successfully, and on this simulator I again eventually managed to have a safe landing. However, I had to work on it for 3 or 4 minutes and when it was all over I was sweating, my fingers were aching and I realised I had been holding my breath for ages. It was an excellent experience. Since then I've had about 6 hours experience on the simulator and the reactions and muscle memory are coming back nicely. I thoroughly recommend this product. As a bonus, theDX4e transmitter is a perfectly functional one which can be used later out in the field, although I wouldn't bother for my first model and keep it by the computer to keep the reactions sharp and to use on dodgy flying days. Although the program is supplied as v4 it will be updated to v5 when you log-on to the web. Save your models from getting trashed by your poor skills and buy this simulator. It'll save you a lot of heartache. But just remember - you WILL crash your planes in real life, so don't expect miracles. Nevertheless, it's a freat hobby.

keine Funktion vom Sender
