Not American made and quality assurance at manufacturer needs improvement.
Negatives:The axe arrived with significant rust and the handle was loose. I tightened the handle by driving in a steel wedge so it will be fine now. Surface rust was easy to remove but pitting remained. Because carbon steel is prone to rust that will be prevented by oiling in the future.Positives:The handle appears to be rose wood and the axe is well balanced. The sheath is superbly designed and crafted.While it was not explicitly stated that the axe was American made the brand name contains the initials USA and I thought I was buying a US made product. I suspect this is Indian or Pakistani made and therefore I would never buy it again.
