Good for a budget system, but thats all
Pretty good system overall so far. We'll see how longevity pans out. The video quality of playback is fairly poor. So, an individual needing crystal clear, day/night performance should go with a higher resolution and more expensive system. The user controls are okay when they work smoothly. The system lacks any support, or detailed instructions. While it is "plug and pay", it doesn't accound for other problems encountered outside the normal installation. You MUST have a fast, large internet capacity to get the full benefits from more up to, or more than four cameras. With more than four, you better have an internet like full speed google fiber or equal speed, or you can forget using the internet for anything else. It's been a good purchase so far, and has shed some light on some shady things going on in the neighborhood at night. But we cant make out details of who or even gender of the figures captured at night beyond 100 feet unless we know for sure who it is. You can see whats going on, but if you need really quality playback to support prosecution, keep shopping. For the money, four stars are warranted.

Outstanding for the price!
Easy set up. Very good quality! Although note if you want to connect to the internet to be able to view from your mobile. I suggest getting have a very good router, or just run two routers. Requres a lot of bandwidth. Over all the biggest bang for your buck!

No custom service!
Thought it would be nice with some surveillance around my house and bought this set, and after few months the device started to peep constantly and I tried everything to find out why and there is absolutely no custom service to ask for any help or advice. So it ended up unusable cause of constant peeping that would wake up the whole neighborhood :/

Kludgy
First things first, Amazon's customer service is incredible. Their return policy is nice when the product does not meet expectations. This particular product appeared to be unfinished and rushed to market. I'm scratching my head as to how it could receive 4 or more stars as it simply is not ready for prime-time. I give this two stars only because it "worked" sort-of out of the box but if I could it would realistically be 1.5 stars for that.... Issues include:1) The software running from either a browser, mobile device or the NVR unit is simply awful. English is far far from the developers' first language. The user interface is one of the worst I've seen and I work for a communications software company, I've seen plenty. I tried to navigate through the UI for simple tasks like changing the NVR unit password with zero luck. It seems almost intentionally confusing and kludgy.2) The NVR video processor and HDD is pure garbage and seems to be the root cause of the majority of my issues. The UI for playback of recorded video is atrocious and nearly impossible to understand how to queue up a clip from the past. If and when you do, the playback is choppy & no where near the advertised 960P resolution. It actually seems far worse than 480i standard def. Beyond the low def issue, the playback and recording is choppy, leaves huge gaps in time and essentially does not provide viable video data worth the installation effort. I think this stems from a cheap, slow RPM HDD in the NVR which was also noisy and produced excess vibration. The low res recording and huge gaps in the recording (and in real-time viewing) happened even when a camera was directly connected or right by the NVR. Proximity had nothing to do with the issues I saw.3) The mobile app: Simply junk. There was no redeeming features regarding the iOS or Android versions, I tried both. It "might" give you a brief still image of one camera but would never display motion beyond 2-3 seconds before the app would need to be closed and restarted. This was tried with both fast WiFi and LTE. Simply does not work at all.As I said, they did link to the NVR without issue, but that's the only thing this set did right. Avoid and keep shopping, just my $0.02.

Do not order, does not have a hard drive. Will not record anything!!
When I ordered the cameras, I was under the impression that the hard drive was included, it WAS NOT. If anything happens I have no record of what happened. Would no be able to show anything to police.

Good Wireless Range, Clear pictures, good remote access on mobile devices and computers, better than 720P resolution
Quick Summary:Excellent wireless range, reasonably clear 960P images for observation and recording, easy to use remote software and mobile apps.Perfect for the home or small business who don’t want to run cables and want to see what is happening around their property.SYSTEM INFO : Wireless 4 Camera CCTV System for home or small business use.The cameras are wireless, all they need is power, they connect to the recorder box wirelessly using radio signals on the 2.4ghz band. I have tested them through a few walls and had perfect images at about 30 metres. I'm sure the range would be quite a lot more in open space.Longer distances between camera and recorder are possible using camera repeater modes and you can even use long ethernet cabling if wireless is impossible. The recorder will display the camera images live on a tv or monitor while recording the images. The cameras will be colour during the daytime then switch to black & white at night and its Infra-Red LED bulbs emit invisible light to allow you to see an image in total darkness up to 30 metres away.Once the recorder is connected to your broadband router box you will be able to remotely log into the recorder box using a smartphone, tablet or pc computer from anywhere in the world to view cameras live and playback recordings.WHATS IN THE BOX: In the kit you get an NVR (Network Video Recorder) with mains power supply and 2 antennas, usb mouse for NVR control, short network cable, 4 metal cased cctv cameras, bullet style with some IR leds for night vision, 4 camera antennas, 4 camera power supplies and 4 sets of camera mounting screws, 4 sets of rawlplugs and allen keys for locking the cameras 3 axis bracket in place once positioned.INSTALLING CAMERAS: The cameras will obviously need to be powered up to work so you need to consider this when planning your installation. The supplied cameras must be powered using the supplied power supplies, they cannot be powered via POEEach camera power supply cable is 1.3 metres long. I understand the Amazon seller has extension cables available but i did not order any yet.WIRELESS RANGE: Before i fully installed my cameras i put my NVR and furthest away camera as far apart as i could on my property. The house is quite old and has very thick walls so the signal has to go through 5 walls and a metal garage door over a total distance of around 30 metres and i found the signal was still perfect, despite the signal reading on the NVR screen being only one bar on the furthest camera.I am impressed, i was expecting signal problems through so many walls but it punched right through. The frame rate did drop on the most distant camera, it was refreshing less often than the closer camerasThis systems is not like old analog wireless “sender” type systems where you get break up and interference, the image is clear and stable. As with all radio systems the range is affected and reduced by walls, objects, trees, vehicles etc, so the claimed maximum range is always in open space with no external factors reducing range.Cameras are connected wirelessly using 2.4ghz radio signals, but they also have an RJ45 ethernet network socket to allow CAT5 wired connection between camera and your broadband router or any connected network switch if the camera will be out of range. The NVR will see the camera as long as it is on the same network. There is a way to set the system up so that each camera becomes a signal repeater.WIRELESS RANGE / REPEATER - Each camera or a series of cameras can be configured to be a wireless repeater to boost the range further to allow camera location to be quite far from the NVR, this would be a very handy feature for larger properties however the radio signals were strong enough during my tests that wherever i put the cameras the image was perfect so that function was not needed.I had a quick look at the set up screen for this and it seemed quite straightforward to set up and had useful graphics to show what it was doing.NVR SET UP: The system comes pre-set up between cameras and NVR, there is no need to add them manually, they will just appear when you power them up.To get the system up and running simply plug a suitable monitor into the NVR via HDMI or VGA connection and power it up.You are presented with a Set Up screen which is pretty self explanatoryMONITORS: The NVR has both HDMI and VGA monitor connections, both can be used at the same time and give identical pictures, one cannot be used as a spot monitor.Maximum monitor resolution is 1080P which is what i used as that matches my monitor resolution and makes the cameras look best in split screen mode, it also has some lower resolution settings from 1024x768 upwards.RECORDING STORAGE: Recordings are stored on an internal SATA hard drive, you can buy the system with the drive already installed but i chose to install my now as i had a spare.Installation was really easy, hard drive screws are supplied so its just a matter of opening the case and screwing it into place and connecting the supplied cables. The startup wizard will format the drive ready for use when you switch the NVR on and it will begin recording.CAMERA RESOLUTIONS: Cameras output a 1280 x 960 pixel resolution image stream (Main Stream) and they also output a lower resolution 640x360 image stream (Sub-Stream), this is ideal for when monitoring on a smartphone, it would be a bit of a waste of network bandwidth (and your phone data) to view all cameras at the highest resolution all of the time so it uses the lower resolution stream, the app allows you to select the high resolution image stream if you want to.Resolution Bitrate FPS1280x960 2mbps 15 fps640x360 256kbps 15fpsYou’ll notice above it says 15 FPS, this is the frames per second it records at, this is not quite the same as watching TV which is 25 FPS, so during playback the recording is ever so slightly “jerky” but in the real world it makes no difference as it is still capturing what a person does, after all there isn’t a lot a person can do in a 15th of a second that it will not capture.Don’t be under any illusions that this is the best quality cctv you can buy because it is not, 960p is better than 720p but there are much higher quality cameras and recorders out there at 1080p and higher, so if you need to read number plates and need good facial detail perhaps this may not be the perfect system for you, however if you just want to see theres someone there and what they do this is perfectly fine.RECORDING MODES: Motion/Sensor/Time - The most common recording modes will be either timed or motion, sensor mode involves using additional equipment that i do not possess so i will omit it from this review.MOTION: When the camera detects motion it begins recording, when motion stops it stops recording after a preset time, adjustable in the menu.TIME: this is constant recording during a time period. The NVR has 4 time settings which allows you to set on and off times up to 4 times every 24 hours.SENSOR: Recording is started when an external sensor notifies the NVR, i have no information about available sensorsNOTIFICATIONS: The NVR can inform you when it is set to video detect mode, it can make a bleep, show the camera full screen, send an email and make the app pop up a notification, this last option is what i used and it works really well.PLAYING BACK -AT THE RECORDER - right click the mouse button then select Playback.REMOTELY USING A COMPUTER - open the App ESEECLOUD on your computer, select the Playback tab at the top of the screen, select which cameras you want to search top right and the date then click search, the timeline along the bottom is then filled in with that days recordings, double click anywhere on the timeline to view that moments recording.EXPORT / BACKUP - If you need to save recordings as evidence you can export files via the usb port on the recorder (although you will have to use a usb hub as the NVR only has one USB port that i can see, it needs that for the mouse for control so i guess a hub is requiredYou can also save recordings to the mobile app or the software remotely by pressing the record button while playing back. The file you get is an AVI video file the same resolution as you watched it while recording, mainstream is 1280x960, Substream is 640x360.You can also save recordings or live views to your computer while watching live or playing back recordings while remotely logged in using the EseeCloud app, you simply press the record button (the icon looks like an old style video camera) and it saves it to your local hard drive, when you press stop it shows you where the file is stored, click on the link to see the file.REMOTE VIEWING:MOBILE DEVICE: The NVR can be viewed remotely using a mobile device such as an iPhone or iPad, or any Android phone, tablet or TV box. The app to use is called "IP Pro", there is another app that is compatible but i only used IP Pro for this review.WINDOWS COMPUTER: Viewing on a Computer is possible using a web browser, i used Internet Explorer on a PC because i know that most cctv systems use ActiveX components for PC viewing, once i had installed the ActiveX plugin the cameras appeared on screen in all their glory.APPLE COMPUTER: Use an app called ESEECLOUD MAC, this is available online, i can send you the link if you want it please contact me, i am unable to link it up on here, Amazon are a bit weird about URL links in reviews.USING THE “IP PRO” APP ON A SMARTPHONE OR TABLET MOBILE DEVICEADDING YOUR DEVICEOpen the App, click on the + Button top right of the screen, select Cloud IDType in the Cloud ID that is displayed in the bottom right corner of the TV screen connected to the NVRType admin into username and leave the password blank and tap Save. You should now see your device in the main window, touch it to connect.VIEWING LIVE VIA SMARTPHONEView 4 or one camera at the same time, tap the screen to switchTilt the smartphone to view cameras full screen with no buttons showingIgnore the PTZ button, this function is for another device not included in this system.PLAYBACK VIA SMARTPHONETap the Playback button to enter the playback screen.Slide the timeline the time you wish to view and tape the blue play buttonon this screen you may take snapshots, record video to the smartphone, mute audio and search other dates

Good image quality and initial set up is smooth. WIFI makes installation easy. A good way to get started securing your home!
I have been looking at a home security system for a long time. There are two reasons I decided to try this one. The fact that the cameras are WIFI, they do not need an Ethernet cable. As well as the camera resolution of 1280 by 960P which is better than the standard 1280 by 720P. This model requires a 3.5 inch SATA HDD and has holes in the base to fit one, I ended up fitting a 2.5 inch HDD with double sided tape as I damaged the 3.5 inch drive that I had, removing it from a computer (see the video). The system arrives well packaged and inside the box there are 4 cameras complete with aerials, power adapters, fittings and fixtures. The NVR complete with power adapter, a set of instructions, USB mouse, Ethernet cable, screws for fixing the HDD and an extension aerial with a magnetic base. The cameras are very well made. They all need to have the aerials fitted and it is necessary to bend the camera brackets to fit them. Each camera comes with a small Allen key and you need this to adjust the camera mounting bracket. The NVR needs to have the HDD installed and this is a fairly simple process. There are six screws in the base that need to be removed. The base can then be popped out with a little bit of persuasion and if you have a 3.5 inch HDD this can be screwed into the base with the screws provided. I had to install my 2.5 inch HDD and this was easy with double sided tape. There are two cables inside the NVR that plug in to the SATA HDD. Be careful when tightening the screws when refitting the base as it would be easy to strip the thread in the plastic and damage it.Then The NVR needs to be connected to a TV/monitor (HDMI or VGA cable - not included) and also to the internet with the supplied Ethernet cable. The mouse plugs into the back of the NVR and so does the power supply. I powered up all of the cameras before the NVR and then turned on the TV and NVR. The set up process is very easy. All of the cameras are paired to the NVR by the manufacturer. Once the unit has gone through its start up sequence it automatically detects the cameras if they are switched on and in range. Make sure you do all of this in the same room before attempting to place the cameras. I had an issue with mine as only three of the four cameras came online. After a bit of investigating I discovered that one of the camera power adapters was faulty. I contacted Ctronics and received a replacement immediately, with no issues - very good customer service. With the cameras online, the next thing to do is format the HDD. This is where some of the problems arise as the instructions are virtually non-existent! I figured out how to do it myself after spending some time looking through the user interface. If you right click the mouse, the menu appears. Look at the video to see how the HDD is formatted. The manufacturer should definitely provide comprehensive instructions for navigating the menus! With a new power supply and the NVR set up I began to site the cameras. I decided to install all of my cameras indoors and made simple wooden bases to mount the cameras. The WIFI range for the cameras is reasonable, certainly not as far as claimed in the product description, but I managed to set up a working system that I was happy with and a my property is a fairly large bungalow. I had to move the NVR into a room without a TV in order to accomplish this. The system can be viewed remotely using either the Apps for IOS or Android, or a web page on the PC. The Apps were easy to install using a QR code supplied. I tried both the IOS and Android versions and these were easy to use. In order to use a PC there are two web addresses supplied and both of these work, BUT only on Internet Explorer, I tried Microsoft Edge and Chrome, but these would not work. Just type “internet explorer” into the search box in your task bar and it will show up in the box above, right click on the icon and pin it to your task bar. When you open either of the web pages you will see a screen with a red notification in the centre asking you to install a plug in. Install the plug in and then you can log on by creating a username and password. To see your security footage, you need your Cloud ID, this is shown on the NVR screen when it is connected to the TV. You also need the camera ID (admin if you have not changed it) and you must enter a NVR password to stop others accessing your cameras. To do this you need to add a password on the NVR screen whilst it is connected to the TV. I found out where by having a good look around.I managed to set up the system using my iPad to make sure all of the cameras were connected. I then set up motion detect and I found that I needed to drop the sensitivity right down to stop the cameras recording almost continually. I have mine set to the second lowest setting and they work well.I went away for four days and I was very impressed with the system, using both a windows tablet with Internet Explorer and my iPad to check the house. It is very reassuring to see all is well whilst you are away and it is only a matter of placing the cameras in good locations to ensure you catch any movement. The cameras were still recording occasionally, but not all of the time. The motion detection works very well. Night vision is fine and the image is good both day and night. You can play back recorded footage easily on the web page or app. See the video. So, I really like the system. Good clear images and reliable motion detection. Easy camera connection and initial set up. The Apps and web access are pretty easy to set up and work well. The additional antenna is a nice touch too. I am not convinced about the Ctronics dream liner technology as it did not seem very effective whilst I was setting up the cameras. The system is in desperate need of a decent set of instructions, but if you spend some time exploring the menu, you will figure most of it out. I was very impressed with the Ctronics customer service. For the price, I think that this is a great product.

High quality camera deterrent solution as a good price
I got this to monitor the outside of my house when Im away. I have a system already attached to an alarm for the inside but with the number of local break-ins I am going to mount these so they are clearly visible so any prospective burglars go elsewhere. The basic system couldn't be easier to set up. I have not mounted my cameras outside yet although they can be as I'll need to run power to them so right now they sit on window ledges. Simply connect the main box to your monitor and your router and the screen will come up with 4 boxes saying NVR. Right click and go to network. You can set the network up in Auto-mode or manual and auto worked fine for me. To connect a camera - screw the aerial onto the back and plug it into the mains and thats it - walk slowly back to the monitor you set up and it will already be there. I live in a modern 4 bed house and had no signal issues - in case you do you can use these Powerline Adaptors that run the network through the mains to achieve the signal. The cameras have both a network socket and a wifi connection so you have the choice - and really at a basic level that is all you have to do.I see you can put a hard drive into the unit to record the cameras with a SATA connected drive up to 6tb so I plan on getting one - I have a smaller one already so will come back with how easy it was to set up and use. I don't know how long that 6gb will last and I guess that depends on whether you have the cameras on constant filming or motion detection. They also have a setting called alarm and time, neither of which I will use.As with all these things there is a free APP for both Android and IOS called IpPro and it enables you to connect to the cameras and watch what is going on - easy and great fun to use and you can see what is going on through cloud storage. So you can see the cameras from anywhere.I chose this unit because of the higher definition cameras and the good reviews it has. Even the Mr Grumpy one-star reviews are only because they have a faulty unit. I also liked the price. Getting these installed by a "professional" costs thousands and you really dont need them - you can do it yourself

Excellent home security solution.
I've been after a Wi-Fi CCTV system for a while and I did a lot of research into different models. I finally decided on this one when it was on a lightning deal and I have to say it has exceeded expectations. Picture quality is excellent both day and night, and in all weather, and the phone app allows you to view your cameras from anywhere (although occasionally the app doesn't always connect but restarting it fixes it). This system is ideal to give you more freedom with camera placement, for me I wanted to attach them to the garage and power them from there so I wasn't drilling holes into the house. The cameras themselves are excellent quality, and make an excellent visual deterrent. Setup is easy enough as the cameras are just plug and play (obviously you will still need to plug them in, which some people don't seem to realise), the menus on the main box are quite self explanatory but the instructions aren't great so some basic technical/IT skills will help get it set up. You need to pay careful attention to how you point the antenna, they need to be parallel to the main box, even if that means pointing them upside down, radius isn't as good as advertised if there are a few walls in the way but in a regular sized UK house you should be able to get it to work with some trial and error moving the antenna, it also comes with one directional antenna as well if one is in a tricky location. One final point is that the cameras are Wi-Fi but the main box is not, that has to be connected to the Internet via a LAN cable (if you want remote playback on your phone or Internet). After sales support is superb - one of our cameras was slightly blurred compared to the others, the support team investigated the issue and eventually sent out a replacement, throughout the email exchange they always responded within 24 hours, so if you do run in to issues with setup you can be confident in getting support to resolve it. They also sell a range of extras for extending the power cables or separating the antenna from the camera if it needs to be located somewhere else (if any of the connections are external ensure they are protected by insulating tape).

Highly recommended CCTV - don't pay more!!
I must admit to looking around for a long time - we wanted CCTV that was reasonably priced and that was easy to set up in an old building with thick stone walls. Took a bit of a gamble as these were a lot cheaper than many looked at - so glad i did as the quality is superb, they are easy to set up and the wifi connection works faultlessly - even though one of them is on a different floor to the hub and separated by thick walls and ceiling! very impressive. The hub is easy to set up -instructions could be a little better, but most of the main settings are obvious. The phone app works very well too - meaning you can check in on the cameras as you wish.Night vision and motion detection are superb and work out of the box.Heartily recommended.

It works - value for money.
I am writing this review after using it for 2 weeks.Pros:-1. It works. I have 4 bedroom bungalow. Kept console in central location. Signal are good both exterior (front / back) and internal by default. Didn't use any signal extension technique/device.2. In-App notifications are with-in 10 seconds of motion detection. Working fine on both Android as well as iOS.3. e-mail alerts can also be set - 10 seconds4. Value for money - wireless security system under £140 (you need power cable though but it's very convenient in comparison to all wires going through console all the way for each camera.5. Customer support - reached out 3-4 times for setup queries - they respond either same day or next day.Cons/Areas of improvement:1. The in-App alert doesn't take you directly to the motion detection clip. Hence not that easy to navigate and find what caused the alert. For security, it's critical to know the reason asap. App upgrade is a must have for this feature. I hope they release an app upgrade.2. You need a monitor to connect to Console for setup. It's a hassle if you don't have a spare TV (not wall mounted). Laptop doesn't work. Okay if your wifi router is close to TV already. Settings via Mobile App can be really useful and handy as motion area setup and other settings take few days to set right. Another area for App improvement.3. e-mail configuration needs firmware upgrade. it should have already been installed before sending (of course with instructions)Overall, my 4 stars from value for money perspective. Some App enhancements (that i recommended above) can definitely make it perfect 5 star product supported by customer service.

Very disappointing
Looks promising but ultimately poor. Initially cameras connected nicely when tested close to the NVR and indoors. Once sited outside, even when in close range and using the antenna extender, fails to connect. Rebooted everything, swapped cameras around etc etc.One camera works. It is outside approx 6ft from the NVR. I have spent 2 whole days trying different configurations, wifi-repeater, external antennas, still no joy. All I can conclude is that the wifi range is so poor as to be virtually unusable unless outside and in line of sight. Instructions are also extremely limited.Avoid and spend your money on a properly installed system.

Great system and easy to use!
Bought to replace an older system. They are extremely easy to use. Just set them up and turn them on. They connected automatically and haven't given any issues since. I have the base unit in a lower corner of the house and cameras mounted in the eaves and on a garage with no signal issues. Picture quality is excellent and the app was very easy to set up and use. I put off upgrading my old system as it was such a pain to get working online but this couldn't have been easier. Great system highly recommended!
