Art Wolfe’s immersive photos capture the wonder humans have felt about trees for millennia. From the biblical Tree of Life to the Native American Tree of Peace, trees have played an archetypal role in human culture and spirituality since time immemorial. An integral part of a variety of faiths—from Buddhism and Hinduism to Native American and aboriginal religions—trees were venerated long before any written historical records existed. Through the vivid images of legendary photographer Art Wolfe, Trees focuses on both individual specimens and entire forests, and offers a sweeping yet intimate look at an arboreal world that spans six continents. Author Gregory McNamee weaves a diverse and global account of the myths, cultures, and traditions that convey the long-standing symbiosis between trees and humans, and renowned ethnobotanist Wade Davis anchors the text with a penetrating introduction. Humans have always shared this planet with trees, and Trees by Art Wolfe is a breathtaking journey through and homage to that relationship and its past, present, and future. Review: Excellent book and unexpectedly more loaded with fantastic photos - Clearly one of Art's best books - this is LOADED with fantastic pictures of tress from around the world. Review: Large, beautiful coffee table book for fall or spring colors - 11 3/8 w x 14 5/16 l. I needed low height decor for my dresser because of television above it. This book complements the colors in my room and was large enough for a large glass object. The book without cover is also beautiful with pretty blue and lilac colors woven in for a springier look.

A masterpiece of words and photography
The photography in this book is breath taking. This book will show you the beauty and importance of all trees by the words and the beautiful photographs. If you agree we need to do what we can to save our planet. Then this book will show you why we can begin to do by saving as many of trees as possible on the planet. Buy the book and take it all in. You will not be disappointed.

Gorgeous
Although heavy and lacking an index, this book is breathtaking. Great quality and design. I use it for forest therapy sessions at a memory care facility.

Treemendous!
I have found the photographs in this book outstanding. I am an artist who paints protected trees in my locality and other found images, from various sources. These pictures make the most of the light available to tell the trees' story, and I am concerned with the ecology and 'green house' effects that endanger our planet. In New Zealand where I live, an extensive forest cover was removed by the pioneer settlers in the 19th Century for farm pastures, but today more trees are being grown and introduced animal pests are being removed.

Belas arvores, belas paisagens!
