Bark River Fox River LT Green

The good : this knife appears to be extremely well made. It has perfect fit and finish and a sharp well ground blade. I haven't used it tons but it seems to hold its edge very well for a steel that is also very tough. I also find the blade shape and size to be good for a variety of tasks including cleaning deer. The sheath is also very good. It looks nice and provides good retention of the blade.The bad: the handle is a comfortable shape and looks great but it suffers from the incompatible attributes of being a little small, slick and not having much of a guard or shape that would stop your hand from slipping up onto the very sharp blade. There is a bump in the handle which does the job to some extent but in a slick handle I would prefer it to be more pronounced. My hands are a little large but certainly not huge and I can hold it comfortably with dry hands and light cutting but with wet or bloody hands I'm nervous applying any pressure down the length of the knife in a stabbing motion.Overall it's a really nice knife but it does demand some extra caution in certain situations.
