Yes, if you push too hard the motor will slow down, if you continue to push hard you WILL break the plastic drive gear. I purchased because of the multi tool heads and accessories at a great value. The only thing that worries me is that the tools are vertical and the brass chips could or will get down in the shaft bearing area and might cause eventual wear. It comes with a brush I assume for the chips. But I didn't use it for that because I didn't want to brush the chips down in that area even worse. Instead I used a shop vacuum to suck the chips out.
