Customer Service Non existant
First the Mifi 2200 device appears to be good and works well so far. TruConnect customer service is bad. Yes you get a human to answer the phone and they talk to their customer, but service is not in the vocabulary. I could not activate the device, their system would not take my credit card info. They could not help me, said they could not take credit card info over the phone. I was told they would escalate the problem and call back in 24 hours. If that is an example of their business I figured I did not want to give them my credit card info anyway.I was going to return the product but wondered if the Mifi would work with another company (DJ), to my surprise it did, the other company activated the device and I was up and running in no time. So I would suggest buying the Mifi device from TruConnect (it is cheaper) and then use another service provider.

great item !!
i purchased this item to see if it would fit my needs to connect my tablet and laptop when i'm away from home since i only use it for paying my parents bills and reading the news on the go. well i have had it for a week and so far it's working fine and the cost is minimal the way i use it . i'm guessing it will cost me about 10 bucks a month.. but beware this is not a good buy if you are going to download big files or movies it will cost you more than you might think.

Nice and not overpriced
This product is just what I was looking for. Rather than paying $30 to $40 per phone per month for a couple of gigs of data I picked up this for travel (I have 5 phones on my contract, you do the math). I am usually in reach of WiFi whenever indoors and now everyone can use this when we are on the go for a fraction of the cost that the cell carriers demand on contract. Per MB it might be a bit more but with the limited use I don't expect to get over $20 use in a busy month. It only took about 5 minutes to set this up and data was activated immediately after registration at TruConnect. Oh and it works great with my Android tablet and even the laptop. No hassle with tethering or setting up a hotspot from another device either. I took one star off because it is what it is, cellular data.

Cool gaget, would love to use.
Unfortunately, the data use fees suck. You cannot use prepaid data plans with TruConnect. They only allow you to register online with them, and you must keep your debit card info on file with them and allow them to debit whenever you reach under $2.00. they don't notify you first either. It cost 3.9 cents per MB ( $0.04) which is NOT a good deal, that puts you at 25 MB for $1.00 / 500 MB for $5.00.

Not worth the trouble
I've had problems with this device since the day I got it, including:1: Defective battery - it would not charge out of the box.2: Fails to connect reliably to the network - 3G access was spotty. I know it's the device since my phone has no problems staying at 4-5 bars, and the hotspot I replaced it with also stays at 4.-5 bars. This device has poor reception issues.3: Price - there are others that are better on pricing alone. I suggest you estimate your actual data usage carefully. The pricing is a little higher than similar hotspots out there, and it's not for watching movies, streaming anything, or downloading large amounts of data. Even some of the other hotspots have much cheaper prices than this device's plans.4: Support is a nightmare. The battery issue still has not gotten a response, MONTHS after I bought it. I went to BatteriesPlus to get the replacement battery, and it resolved the charging/poweron problem. And canceling the service? They say they canceled it, but you still will get billed for it. You have to watch them carefully here.

Loving it
I mainly just use this to sync messages/emails to my Nexus 7 while I am riding on the motorcycle where I might be cruising out of my typical Wi-Fi ranges.Connects very quickly even where my Sprint phone will not find 3G, seems to be much faster DL and UL speeds than my phone, which can never seem to load anything the first 3 attempts. Data usage is also very light for what I do, If I am out using it for about 4-5 hours while I am riding and away from wifi, Idling it will use about 7 MB in that time, coming to roughly 28 cents in cost. Which I think is fantastic as I won't be using it every day and not all day on any days. Some programs are more intensive, I have not tried streaming video yet, but I will stick to using GPS on my Phone (when it decides it has GPS functioning) as googles GPS used about 15 MB in less than 5 minutes of use, roughly $2.50 for an hour of GPS, which is by no means bad, but adds up quickly.Overall very satisfied, setup was easy and fast if you follow instructions (I didn't at first =P). It's worth $5 plus usage every month to know I will be able to sync and surf when I am stopped somewhere out of town. Had device for one month now and only spent $6+$5 monthly access.
