When the ambient temperature is BELOW the set point, its contacts are OPEN. When the ambient temperature rises ABOVE the set point, the contacts are CLOSED. Use this to control a ventilation fan. When the air gets hot, the thermostat will turn on the FAN and turn it off again when the air gets cooler.The thermostat with a RED dial (KTO 011) is used for heating applications. When the ambient temperature is ABOVE the set point, its contacts are OPEN. When the ambient temperature drops BELOW the set point, the contacts are CLOSED. Use this to control a heater. When the air is cool it will turn on a heater. When the air warms up, it will turn off the heater.Note that these devices are mount to a 35mm DIN rail.
