Dirty Sexy Player

I hate stories that are split into multiple books. I avoid them like the plague. Unfortunately, nothing that I read when I purchased it gave any indication that this was one of those. I’m still pretty annoyed that I can’t finish it until November. I’ll have read another 30 books by then, so the flow will be completely broken. Because of that, I may not even bother with the next one. There should be a warning before you buy.

Weston King is the king of players. He works hard and he players harder but all of that is about to end when his business partner and friend comes up with probably the craziest idea he has ever heard. Marry the privileged princess of Dyson Media, Elizabeth Dyson.Elizabeth may not have a job or know anything about running business but she is smart. A fake marriage isn't what she had in mind for how her life should go, but it truly was the answer to her current problem. There was an instant attraction between Weston and Elizabeth from the very first time they met, they just needed to keep reminding themselves that this was a fake relationship, a business arrangement that would benefit both of them. Some things may be easier said than done.I absolutely love the fire and the passion between Weston and Elizabeth. They fought the attraction, the pushed each other away, the bickered about everything. Nothing like a little fighting to ramp up the sexual tension. You can only fight the inevitable for so long. Their relationship may have started out as fake, but it doesn't feel so fake anymore.This is book 1 of the Dirty Games Duet and let's just say it is going to be a long wait for book 2 to be released (thankfully the audio will be released soon!). I can't wait to see what lies ahead for Weston and Elizabeth, especially after that drama and cliffhanger!If you love enemy to friends romance stories with a twist of marriage of convenience then this is definitely as series that you should check out. Laurelin knows how to take you on an emotional rollercoaster ride.

Argh, I hate cliffhangers, however, this one is definitely worth it!Weston King loves to play hard and party harder. He never beds the same woman more than twice. When one of his partners in the company they own, asks him for a favor, he is intrigue. Marry the heiress of the Dyson Corporation, Elizabeth Dyson. It will be a fake marriage so she can get control of the company. When her father passed away he left a clause that explained she could not take over the company until she was 29 or if she married first. Her cousin Daryl is currently running the company but destroying it bit by bit. Weston loves his single life and is totally against this. That is until he meets Elizabeth. However, she turns out to be a bitch so he is instantly regretting this agreement.Elizabeth is floored when she meets Weston. Not only is he good looking, but he also has a killer body, and those dimples! Except he is also arrogant. Elizabeth understands this agreement will benefit both of them, but she doesn’t know how to be strong when she’s around Weston.Their chemistry is undeniable, why did she insist there would not be any sex involved in their agreement.This book is extremely hot. It’s an enemies to lovers story.However, the ending left me with my mouth open. November can’t arrive soon enough.

We will soon find out in “Dirty Sexy Games”, part two in this tantalizing new duet.

Another fabulous story from Laurelin, to get a full idea of the background to this story you should read Dirty filthy rich men and Dirty filthy rich love books which would give you a little insite in to the main characters backround and in doing so ,you would have had a little preview of this story line . Weston & Donovan are joint CEO’s of the very successful business Reach but in order to take their business further and expand into Europe Donovan wants to acquire Dyson Media in France. The successful Dyson company was built and owned by its CEO Dell Dyson ,who has recently died , leaving his twenty five year old daughter Elizabeth Dyson as sole heir ,but she can only gain control of her father’s business when either she reaches twenty nine or before that if she gets married ,as a result after her father’s death her cousin is put in charge and he’s running the company into the ground . To help Elizabeth out and to further his own business Donovan comes up with the idea of a marriage of convenience, not wanted the job himself he has to persuade his partner Weston who is the ultimate player to become the groom , after making him an offer he can’t refuse Weston reluctantly agrees . When the couple first meet they seemingly hate one another but you know it’s only going to be a matter of time before it changes they also have to be convincing as a couple to fool Elizabeth’s cousin that they’re in love for real . We are left with a story that absolutely crackles and sizzles with sexual tension through out, before they finally give in to their desires and realise they have fallen in love , but Just when you think yes there’s going to be a happy ending a secret is revealed and we are left with a cliffhanger at the end 😱. Waiting patiently now for the next book so that we can get the conclusion to this story hopefully Weston & Elizabeth will get their HEA .

I have say is Laurelin Paige is a go to author for me. I have loved everything she has written, and pre-order books unseen and I am never disappointed. Laurelin has been very brave with this book by having the audiobook published first.I have devoured every word, as I have a soft spot for Weston. So it took me a while to warm up to Elizabeth, and the way she treated Weston. For the first time in his life he couldn’t charm a woman.I didn’t think I would enjoy anything as much as the Donovan Duet. This is a treat you can’t miss, as with any marriage of convenience, this is to help Elizabeth inherit her father’s company. Elizabeth can’t inherit unless she is married or 29. This is Laurelin at her best, with the quick fire conversations and sexual tension you can cut with a knife. This is written with a dual point of view, which helps us understand much more. It’s no secret this is my favourite way to read or listen as it gives the reader a full picture.Alas we have to wait for book two in the duet to find out how Weston and Elizabeth cope with married life and Elizabeth trying to save her Father’s Company from her cousin.

Dirty Sexy Player was one of my most highly anticipated reads of 2018.Unfortunately, the story fell flat for me.Now don't get me wrong, this book is a good, funny, light-hearted and a really enjoyable read, and if you love a haters-to-lovers romance, one with characters that have such insane and intense chemistry that you feel coming off the pages in waves, then this is a book you are sure to enjoy.But I myself just wasn't as into this story as I thought I'd be, which is a little disappointing.Truth be told, I actually found this book to be a little dull, since about 75% of this novel was predictable to me, and that's not just because this story overlaps the timeline of Dirty Filthy Rich Men and Dirty Filthy Rich Love (a duology you in no way need to read before going into Dirty Sexy Player as they're completely separate stories). It was predictable to me because when you go into a story you know is about a marriage of convenience... Well, you basically know how the story is going to play out already - two people who dislike each other have a marriage of convenience for business purposes, yet throughout their story they surprisingly (not so surprisingly) fall in love - and so to me, this was a story with a pretty straight forward and predictable plot.Except I can't say it was all predictable, and so not everything about this book was dull.There were moments throughout this story that I did like, like Weston and Elizabeth's development from not being able to be in the same room together without snapping at each other, to then not being able to be in the same room together without keeping their hands to themselves. Weston definitely took me by surprise by how sweet he could be, even if at times he could be such a jerk, and Elizabeth... Hmm, I definitely questioned some of her actions in this book, but overall she is a strong female character who I both wanted to bow down to, and also protect at all costs.But it's the ending that was my favourite part of this book; that bombshell of an ending that was so unpredictable that, when I read all that went on during the last 5% of this novel, my jaw dropped, and it stayed dropped. It was SO shocking, and it COMPLETELY BLEW MY MIND, and even though I didn't love this book like I hoped I would, I am now highly anticipating for Dirty Sexy Games - the conclusion to this duology - to come, because I NEED to see how it is Weston and Elizabeth will conquer the fifty foot hurdle that was placed in front of them, because what a fifty foot hurdle that was.So as I'm sure you can tell by my all-over-the-place review, I'm mainly sixty-forty about this book; on the one hand I liked it and I very much enjoyed the story, but on the other hand, it was predictable to me, and there just wasn't anything truly special about this story that had me wanting to stay up all night, and drowning out the outside world so I could get myself lost in this one, which is why overall, I'm rating this novel 3.5 Stars. Sure, this book could've been worse. But at the same time, to me, it also could've been better.

This author can certainly write good characters. Weston is a delightfully wicked character who has the reader is a whirl the whole time. He had me chuckling with his thoughts and actions all the way through the novel. But does he does have flaws, and does have a sense of whats right and wrong. So VERY lovable. Elizabeth plays her part well too. Shes just what Weston needs in his life - the only down side is that once again Weston is indebted to Donovan, which he hates.The author has made sure her female characters are centrally strong to be able to deal with these Alpha men.A wonderful read. Can't wait for bk 2 due out mid Nov. 2018. I'll be chumping at the bit

A marriage of convenience between Elizabeth and Weston, will gain her the company that was left to her cousin (unless she was married), is slowly being broken up by said cousin.Donovan, Weston's partner in business, "suggests" to Weston that the marriage would be a good thing for their company too.Now Weston's a love 'em and leave 'em type of guy but Elizabeth strikes a spark of interest in him when they meet, and not just for business.While the story was enjoyable, it was pretty predictable and in places it dragged on way too long about them having unadmitted feelings for the other. But that's only my opinion.
