I've been using Emory board files all my life (I'm up in years!) And never heard of glass fingernail files. I discovered this file while searching Amazon for Emery boards. What a relief to find such a good product. It does a very good job and leaves my nails so smooth. With good treatment this file will last forever. What a relief to not have to rely on files that wear out after one use or are hard on the nails. I'm a super satisfied customer.

Love it. No more raggedy nails. Had to find an alternative to emery boards. They had become very hard on my nails as my nails are not as strong as they used to be. I can use this daily without damaging my nails. Quite smooth. Nice carrying case. Good value; I think I used some points to purchase. Very good customer service. First one not delivered. The best nail file ever. I have mostly used regular emery boards and not all of them are the same. I decided I needed to get a decent nail file because my nails are weak and break or chip easily so it’s hard to keep them looking nice. I could not believe how great this was the first time I used it. So happy I found this. Everyone should try it.

I was new to using a glass nail file. I have natural nails and usually the standard files are too rough creating more damage than help. This was relatively inexpensive so I thought I would give it a try. I LOVE IT! My 20 year old daughter has almost confiscated it so may be ordering another one very soon. This file is smooth, leaves a nice edge on my nail and doesn't tear up my nail like other files. Yes, I have dropped in once already on our porcelain tile floors. It did not shatter or break but there is a tiny chip at the very end of the point. I didn't even notice it at first and it is inconsequential to getting the job done. Well worth the price!!!

The best glass files have thin blades and sharp points, which break more easily but also glide more easily across the nail edge. This blade is thick, and it runs across the edge of the fingernail awkwardly, in stops and starts. Maybe it will be easier to use over time? It is also not handy for cleaning under the nail, due to the dull, thick end (should be pointed, and fit under the nail. Finally, I ordered black or lavender or something--there was a choice, and I know I did not order hot pink--bleck--the color of boiled plastic dolls and garish birthday cakes favored by little girls. The only color I dislike--in anything but sunsets, flowers and fancy cocktails--the latter of which I won't be able to sip with pride, showing off my newly manicured nails. Aside from the disappointing function and color, it does come in a neat little case (if only it wasn't bright screaming pink).
