Luke writes briefly about his younger autistic and AD/HD brothers, providing amusing insights into the antics of his younger years and advice for parents, carers and teachers of younger AS children. However, his main reason for writing was because "so many books are written about us, but none are written directly to adolescents with Asperger Syndrome. I thought I would write one in the hope that we could all learn together." I borrowed this book many years ago when it first came out and having recently bought Luke Jackson's excellent sequel "Sex, Drugs and Asperger Syndrome" , I thought I would buy my own copy of "Freaks, Geeks and Asperger Syndrome. " An excellent read, made all the more remarkable by the fact that Luke was only 13 when he wrote this ! Essential reading for anyone who is autistic, a parent of an autistic child, a professional in the field of autism, or anyone simply wanting a "reader-friendly" account of what it means to be autistic. We are different, not less!
