Fun and simple
I bought this for my husband who has recently discovered he likes making/trying new drinks. Finally, he has a hobby we can both enjoy!! He said it makes drinking more fun. Plus, we are slowly expanding our liquor cabinet with each new drink he tries.

Great hit at parties and perfect gift for a bar decoration
My brother was ecstatic to get this book for Christmas. I figured it would just be a nice piece to have in his bar setup, almost like a coffee table book for guests to check out, but he actually goes through the book and finds interesting recipes to try out. For our 2024 New Year’s party he was creating cocktails for people on request and everyone looked through to book to find something nice to try out for themselves. For Christmas this year he busted out the book to make our family some whiskey sours, It was a hit. As far as what’s written in the book goes it seems like there’s a good variety, I can only speak on what I what I know.

Great book!
I got a cocktail kit for Christmas and having never made a cocktail other than rum and coke, I needed this book! I got to try out so many recipes already and just love it. It's definitely a beginner level book and has a very nice variety in it

I wish I'd bought this before setting up the bar again
We recently decided to re-set up our home bar. My husband has long been a beer drinker, but enjoys whiskey, gin occasionally. I've been a teetotaler since shortly after we married mainly because of kids. I've always preferred cocktails since I taste alcohol strongly. But cocktails get expenses outside or inside the home. Recently though we decided we wanted a legit bar in the house (2 of our 3 kids are legal age drinkers now themselves).I remembered some of the cocktails I used to enjoy, and therefore what liquors to buy. I still had my old cocktail guide books. However, I found the books overwhelming - for that matter, the liquor stores. Vodka used to have a shelf or two, not a row! I decided to buy a couple books with far fewer recipes (though if you want a lot, I highly recommend The Bartender's Bible by Gary Regan). This book was one of 2 I bought. I haven't made anything from the recipes yet, though the recipes I'm familiar with look as they should. I do wish I'd bought this before we started stocking the bar as it gives a nice list at the front of what you need, what is nice to have, and etc for liquor, bar tools, glassware, and mixers. I do love that the book is pretty. I'm visual so far more likely to chose a drink by the photo. It looks as though there will he plenty of drinks to occupy us for a while, and that's good. It's also small enough, I'm not overwhelmed. I only have 2 complaints. One, as someone else said, the varieties on the drinks are a bit of a joke. For instance, there is the classic gin and tonic, then the budget gin and tonic, then the perfect gin and tonic. The only difference really is the brand of gin, and yes the book specifies a brand in each recipe. It'd be less annoying if there wasn't a handy list at the front of the book showing you the recommended classic, budget and perfect brand of each of the main liquors. Often the only other variety offered is the Virgin version. Yet there is also a non-alcoholic section at the back (I didn't notice of it has the same recipes as the rest of the book has scattered throughout). My other complaint is the cover says 4 ingredients or less and yet it's rarely true of a recipe. I guess if you only count the alcohol components as ingredients it's 4 or less, but personally I count juices, sodas, garnishes, etc as ingredients. That said, none of the recipes are long lists of ingredients. Plus the ingredients are relatively common.I would recommend the book, especially if you are starting out.

Fantastic book!
This is an amazing, concise book packed full of interesting information with a sense of humour. Beautiful pictures, very simple recipes and my new favourite cocktail book to start making great drinks! I’m going to order a second one to leave at the cottage!

It’s cute
I was expecting more exotic type drinks... but lots of sweet tropical types. A cute thing to have but not a must.

Worth it.
Price was reasonable, recipes are easy to follow and pages are gloss which i liked, each recipe tells you what type of glass you will need and it being hard covered helped with deciding on buying it.
