Unique Gift Idea: Japanese Katsudon Cooking/Travel Kit

I bought this for Christmas 2014. It was for my boyfriend who is half Japanese and he loved it. If I remember correctly, this serves 4 but he ate all of it himself the day I made it and the next day. Because I personally don't eat meat nor cook it that much making this was to say the very least interesting. It isn't hard at all to make if you are familiar with pork. The smell was absolutely enticing. I would recommend familiarizing yourself a little before hand with the instructions and preparation. The interesting facts and trivia included made this dish all the more interesting and special.

Everything you need to make it here except the meat an veggie. Need to buy a bowl big one or go to destinationdinners.com and get them.

Please note that the serving pieces are not included in the gift. We were disappointed On Christmas morning to learn the kit just contained the ingredients to prepare the food and nothing else!!

I've been a fan of Destination Dinners since they first launched. This is one of the coolest gift products I have ever purchased. We have used the kits as customer appreciation gifts at the holidays a number of time. We often use them as gifts for friends as well. They are always a hit. We have used to kits to cook meals at home as well. The meals are always yummy!If you like to cook but lack the adventure gene, these kits are for you. The recipes are authentic to the area. Each kit includes a shopping list for the fresh items needs, all the non-perishables are carefully premeasured in individual containers, there is usually a tea or coffee that is specific to the area. And then there is a local tour guide with some trivia/fun facts on the area. The result, an authentic local dinner with a little bit about the local culture.Just plain cool!

Me and my husband recently moved, and I purchased two of these. I will say, they are amazing. We love them so much. We use them all the time.I really recommend them.
