Great helmet and gloves, will buy again
I’m giving this 5 stars for its quality at this price point.I don’t weld every day, so I don’t need a helmet that costs a few hundred dollars. This helmet is very lightweight which suits my needs. This helmet has a good adjustable fit. There is plenty of viewing area to work.I have a 2000 lumen flashlight with a strobe feature, and I used it to test the sensor for the dimming filter. It worked very well. I would suggest keeping a bright flashlight around just to test a helmet sensor before you use it. it’s tedious but it’s your vision you are protecting. The paint job on the helmet looks good. The gloves that came with this are nicer than pairs at the welding store near me that sell for $40 to $60This purchase was worth the money and a great deal, I feel like this is good solid safety equipment and I’m grateful because I couldn’t afford a $250 helmet and $100 gloves

great for beginner welder / student
I used this for a year long intro to welding class in high school. It worked great, until I lent it to some other kid who broke it. It is by no means on the same level as a $200 or $300 welding hood, but it works fantastic for the price. If you can learn to weld with a hood like this, you'll be amazing when you finally upgrade to a nicer hood.

Great product
Very nice helmet, and the gloves are awesome! Only complaint I have is the headgear doesn’t work properly. When flipping the helmet up while using it doesn’t want to stay up. Otherwise great product for the price!

Decent helmet.
I do portable welding. A lot of what I do is Fences and Corrals. After using a pieced together helmet for months, I went ahead and bought this. Good helmet and auto darkening lens. Clear and easy to adjust. I like that it came with extra protective lenses and gloves. Gloves seem to be great quality.Unfortunately, the helmet doesn't stay up. I stripped the nut on the right side trying to tighten it so that it would. If I were in a shop setting, I don't see it being much of an issue, but I'm ducking, welding overhead, need to look at things at different angles, It would sure help if the helmet stayed in the position I put it in and not distract me by constantly falling on my face. I will take some time and redo the headband to helmet attachments.Other than that... great helmet!

UPDATED I had a defective unit. 2nd helmet works much better. not consistent in protecting your eyes
Update: the customer service dept contacted me based on my review. They were very helpful and they suggested they replace the helmet and shipped it same day. I recieved it today and it seems to work more consistently and very well. Great company to work with. They could have just let the review stand and mive on but decided to take care of customers. Don't see a lot of that today. Well done. Honestly this helmet doesn't seem to work consistently and the auto dark goes dark before I should causing me to stop and flip up the mask to see where to start the weld. Sometimes it appears to be dark enough to shield my eyes from the welding but other times I have burned my eyes and have to stop because I need to wait for the light spots on my eyes to go away to be able to see what I am doing. I tried the adjustments inside and out but it just isn't worth my eye sight so I won't be using this helmet.

Cheap hood mounting bolts...broke after three wears
Definitely light weight and comfortable for the price but after just three times wearing it the hood “bolt” broke off the head straps and that’s when I noticed the bolt was make of plastic. If I would have know is was this cheaply made I probably would have bought a different one. Gloves work fine!

Good helmet and good gloves also.
I finally used the helmet today. It was very easy to use and had a good clear view.Pro’s1. Good value plus it came with a great pair of long cuff welding gloves.2. Relatively light weight.3. Has a good clear view.4. Trigger time on the lens was fast and delay after darkened worked good.Con’s1. Head band may seem a tad thin or cheap. But parts are easy to order for it.2. The numbers on the shade adjustment are small and hard to see. So are the other brands. I had to mark them with a permanent marker for ease of use.

Headband tightening mechanism
The headband tightening mechanism is faulty, poor design. Thei main catch cogs inside the mechanism sheared off when tightening. Having used similar helmet headband tightening mechanisms in my fire fighting career, this is the first time to have this happen. I am trying to return the merchandise.
