Healthy benefits invisible?
I have noticed Chia Seeds in the store before and have heard much about the nutritional benefits. There is not much that I can write about my experience using them. I have used them on salads, pasta, and yogurt. So far there is no distinctive taste that interferes with the regular taste of the foods. The texture is not bulky or grainy it is the seeds are pretty fine but do not add a granualar feel to the meal. I have read that chia seeds are sometimes used to help with appetite and portions. I have not really found a noticeable difference and neither did members of my family. If the seeds have the health benefits touted on the package then this will be a good addition to regular meals. At this point it is too soon to tell.

pleasant & healthy addition to diet
This is my first experience using chia seeds and I'm happy to say that I've enjoyed it enough to make this a regular staple in my diet. When I first got this I wasn't yet prepared with any ingredients for the recipes I had found, so what I did was mix a few spoonfuls of chia seeds into a glass of chocolate soy milk. The seeds thickened the milk and the seeds became a bit gelatinous, so the soy milk tasted like a version of the bubble teas (with much much smaller "bubbles," of course) that you find in Asian cafes. I like the tapioca texture and this has become a new favorite drink for me. I've also bought some coconut milk and I plan to try out more recipes. I will note that my husband and son thought my soy milk concoction looked "disgusting," so for them I'll need some recipes where the seeds are blended in completely. The chia seeds do not add any discernible flavor as far as I have tasted, only texture.I do want to mention that it is probably a good idea to start off with small amounts, if you are new to chia seeds. I am petite and consumed ~2-3 tablespoonfuls my second day of trying the seeds and ended up feeling bloated. Chia seeds expand, so taking too much can cause bloating or, in more severe cases, stomach cramps.I like that this comes in a resealable bag. One pound sounds like a lot but this bag is not that big. If you consumer a lot, these can go pretty quickly.

Melon Taste
I like to try out different new products, and this one sounded interesting, so I ordered it. I find it to have a pleasant taste, and to provide some short term energy boost, but to have no other effect I can tell.I had no idea what Chia Seeds are - I always associate Chia with the "Chia Pets" one sees on TV. These turn out to be small multicolored seeds. I tried them out by the spoonful. They don't have much taste at first, but after a moment I pick up an undertone of melon, like a honeydew flavor. It is not unpleasant, and might be refreshing as a yogurt topping, for example. The seeds are "100% Chia Seeds (Salvia Hispanica)".As to the effect, I felt a slight energy boost right after eating the seeds, but I think that is mostly due to the effect of the few calories involved. The packaging mentions Omega-3 (2.4g per 1 tablespoon serving), and omega-6 (0.8g per serving). It also lists 4 Grams of fat and 4 carbs - but 4g fiber also, for a net carbs of zero. It also has 2 g protein, 65 mg of calcium, 1 mg of iron, 80 mg of potassium. and 42 mg of magnesium. All in all, a good list for zero net carbs, so it is pretty good for those on the low carb eating plans.Summary: If your nutritional desires match these ingredients, this is a pleasant supplement to use. Recommended.
