Irish Setter Men's Vaprtrek 2869 Knee High Boot

I have had these about 30 days now and worn them 3 times for a total of about 18 hours. I cannot comment on the durability yet. I also have been lucky enough not to have tried out the snake proof part so I am trusting that it will work when the time comes.That said, this is hands down this is the best snake boot I've ever worn. They handle terrain and are comfortable like a hiking boot. You do have to adjust the laces all the way down the boot each time you take them on and off. This does take about 30 seconds per foot each time so if you're in that big of a hurry then these boots will annoy you. The tradeoff is you get a snake boot with a hiking boot level of comfort. I am never in so big of a hurry that a couple of extra minutes to get your boot laced up is that big of a deal. If you overtighten the laces at the ankle you will cause some discomfort but you'll quickly learn just how much to tighten the laces. The boot handles moisture much, much better than the old rubber snake boots I had. I have not worn them in standing water but through tall wet grass and small puddles they did fine.

I will start by saying I was surprised such an expensive boot was delivered to my door in a soft amazon bag. Where is the box!?!Other than that I really like the boots. The feel comfortable and are very light compared to every other snake boots I tried. They actually look better than most in my opinion too. I have not used them yet but I will be hunting with them in 3 days. I will come back and update my review If I feel they let me down in any way. If you are reading this then I still like them!

Ordered a pair of these for myself and another for my wife in the women's. Haven't actually put them to the test yet, have 20 acres of land to clear for a hunting camp in North Florida and didn't want to be bothered by things that slither and bite. Tried them on, and they fit great for both my wife and myself. Read some of the other reviews and took the advice of others, ordered a half size larger than I normally would wear, 10 EE instead of a 9 1/2, fit and feel great. She ordered a full size larger and got a great fit as well. As someone else stated, these would not be something that you want to wear during the summer months. Heavy insulated to prevent penetration of teeth, fangs, or sharp objects so they are pretty warm to wear. Didn't want something with a zipper, just another weak point to possibly break, so they take a couple of minutes each to put on but well worth it. Have been wearing Red Wing Shoes for work about 30 years so that did influence the decision to purchase these as well.

I use snake boots out in the Everglades hunting pythons. We do alot of "jungle busting" and its alway good to be protected from the snakes that belong in the 'Glades. The boots were delivered quickly and couple days later we were hunting pythons. While gearing up, I put the boots on and was surprised how comfortable they were. Just before shoving off in canoes, I remembered something in my truck and ran to go get it, it felt like I was wearing my running shoes. Out in the jungles of the Everglades, I found I had better balance with these boots. The only issue I have is that they have the hooks for the laces instead of eyelets, so they became untied a few times. Kind of a non-issue really, I just laced them up tighter and double knotted them and was good to go. By the way, we caught nine pythons on that trip.

They are stiff right out of the box, but wear them until they feel right and they'll treat you right. For me it took about a week of wearing them before they were broke in enough for me.Also they will serve their purpose. Went night fishing a week back, an hour or so in I felt something hit my boot. Turned on my light and the cottonmouth hit it again. Thanks to those boots I can say I can keep night fishing, though I can't say the same for the snake.

Used for 8-9 hours on a hot day in heavy Florida briar filled woods. It was raining at times and my feet stayed dry all day. Use them when I cut the yard and they hold up to everything I have thrown at them. I would definitely buy again! Funny thing when I arrived there was over twenty of us on a search and rescue and of those 50% had on snake boots on. Of that 50% about 90% had on the Irish setters. Love the boot! Did not encounter any snakes surprisingly, but I was confident that they would have held up if I did.

I didn't notice that these were made by RedWing when I bought them. I was extremely happy with the fit and quality. Haven't run into any snakes with them yet, but given the brand and reviews I'm confident that the quality of materials and build will perform as expected. They are also very light weight for the size of boot that they are.

Husband loved boots. Waterproof up to tongue top of boot. Very comfy and good materials!!
