Easy for Mashed Potatoes and so on
I bought this as an alternative to a potato masher, because, who wants extra work when cooking a feast! I don't make mashed potatoes often because I dread the work of mashing them. However, this tool was soooo easy and fast to use! I will be making them much more often. Also, it was very easy to hand wash. Tip: if you are using a larger potato, such as a russet, you will want to cut it up first so that it fits in the cup.Can't wait to try it out with some other foods, such as cauliflower!

Another great kitchen gadget
Another great kitchen gadget. I boiled some potatoes, and used this masher. It was easy! The potatoes came out with great consistency. It took less time than using the normal masher, and I didn't have to peel the potatoes! When I put the potatoes in this, the skins don't come out the other side. I cook mashed potatoes frequently, so I will be getting a lot of use out of this. Even the kids loved to use it. I am excited to see what else it can be used for. My new favorite gadget!
I made the best mashed potatoes I've ever eaten when I used this ricer for the first time! I cut them into pieces that fit easily into the ricer, closing the handles was effortless and I have neither large nor strong hands. When I had finished putting through the potatoes I gave the ricer a quick rinse. I was amazed by how easily the bits and pieces released at that point; washing it after dinner was a breeze. I highly recommend this ricer, I wish I had had it when I was making mashed 'taters for my family at least 3 times a week.

Simple, functional, easy to clean, too!
This one is well made and does exactly what I wanted it to do. Won't ever use anything else!! A little side note... after boiling and draining potatoes, put them back in the hot pan and let them dry out. Put through the ricer, add milk, butter, seasonings... BEST mashed potatoes EVER!!

Simple yet versatile
It was easy to set up and use. My potatoes came out smooth and creamy. It took all the fiberous strings out of my sweet potatoes. That's enough for a great rating from me.

Poor hinges.
On using this product it broke I managed to obtain a stainless steel bolt to fix the snapped hinge on the top compression handle.
