Apparently rustic means poor quality and that is very sad.
I have never written a review but was so disappointed with this purchase I figured it was a good time to start. I was honestly shocked when I received this product. The very flimsy black cardboard backing was cracked and pressed all the way into the shadow box against the glass. (Did anyone else notice the nice gray microfiber shown as the backing in most of the pictures that show the product?????) The frame was very securely wrapped in bubble wrap and I feel like the splitting is due to only poor quality as the box itself was in perfect condition. The actual frame is splintering and chipping around all the edges. I unpacked this product maybe 30 minutes ago... for $59 I expected a product of much higher quality. I now am debating on returning this product or going to a craft store and investing even more money into this box to make it useable. I feel like I could’ve made this box to a much better quality within one afternoon for half of the price. My advice to anyone considering this purchase: go to a thrift store and find a lookalike for $5 instead.

Very beautiful shadow box!
So beautiful and in perfect condition! I was worried about other comments saying it was bad wood but remember that reclaimed wood is older but has so much character! It also has a glass cover as opposed to other reviews saying it is plexiglass. I didn’t have a problem with splinters either. This frame is perfect to remember my grandmother who passed away 3 years ago. I showed it to my family and they were thrilled with this special keepsake!

Very pleased
I have a business in which I preserve flowers from people's weddings and funerals and put them in shadowboxes. Often times I have brides ask for a "rustic" box" and I had no sources for that. When I found these on Amazon I decided to take a chance. I am very please with the boxes that i purchased. I will definitely order from BarnwoodUSA again when I need this type of box. The box is well made and pleasing to look at. It is an acryllic "glass" which is ok if you are careful to clean it with cloths that do not scratch.

Cool idea, poor attention to detail and quality control.
Due to careless assembly there were two fasteners that were sticking into the shadow box area that had to be removed without damaging the wood. This is ridiculous the person building it didn't turn and see what they did and pull them out. "Rustic" doesn't need to mean sloppy.

Poor quality for price
It was difficult to remove the back and place items in the shadow box. Film was hard to remove from the inside of the plastic front. The film stuck in the edges. I was not aware that the shadow box did not have a glass front and it did not have hinges to open easily. It was similar to a very large cheap frame.

I feel like frame is a bit overpriced for what it is
This came wrapped very well, and I had no issues with the quality of the item. My only complaint is the price, I feel like frame is a bit overpriced for what it is, however, it looks very nice, and my wedding bouquet looks beautiful inside of this. Overall, I am happy with my purchase!
