Claxton Fruit Cake2 Regular and 2 Dark One-Pound Cakes

Claxton makes an excellent fruit cake. They offer both a dark and a light fruit cake; they are both very good.

Always enjoy these fruitcakes. Hard to choose between light and dark.

These are the most scrumptious fruitcakes I've ever had. My idea of fruitcakes before this was dry, with some fruit, but overwhelmingly boring.These are almost all fruit and nuts. And that's what holds them together. And makes them inescapable for me! I tell myself, "Just one more thin slice," but it never works. The flavor hits a spot that creates a desire for more!

Claxton are very good, especially for the price!!! They are loaded with fruits and nuts!!! AND they're very moist, not dried-up like some cakes or food that comes in the mail. The only thing that I'd like to have though, is there's no pineapple in the cake or on top ; I always like it when there's pineapple, red cherries, green cherries, and walnuts on top!!! This type of cake doesn't have any kind of "presentation top".

My Dad used to sell this for some organization he belonged to. Loved it in the 60's and love it today.

Couldn't find this fruitcake for the holidays, although it was in stores Thanksgiving. May have been at other stores than my area, but I searched online and found these, directly from the Vendor on Amazon. Little bit more than what store had month prior, but could get the dark and regular, and better price than other vendors. I got a pair for a gift and 1 pair for me. Delivery time was ok and could be tracked. These Claxton's are a good flavor. I have gotten so I like the dark even better now.

The fruit cake was just ok. I felt it should have had more nuts in it. It was colorful, but lacked the fresh punch flavor of other fruit cakes I have eaten.

I am pretty finicky when it comes to fruit cake. I have tasted more impostors than I would like to count. These Claxton cakes out performed them all. I usually love the dark cakes the most, but I actually preferred the lighter Claxton cake. I did not see that one coming. The dark and light have a slightly different taste but not enough that I would want to say one is better than the other. Excellent product. Thanks for keeping the ageless recipe.
