Kwik Thumb bar - Brass

one of the set screws strip out right off, but still holding. other picks have just a little larger set screws would help. also if cutting plastic or paper of length set becomes an obstical. but it does it's job for one hand operation!

The thumb bar is very well made and easy to install. It is slim with a low profile, but may not be large enough for your knife. I chose it because it has two set screws, and I will secure it with a little loc-tite. The thumb bar does allow me to open my knife with one hand.

Good product! No problem with that!! However , as I picked up my package I heard something drop. It was one of the items from my package. I noticed that the package had been sliced open at one end of the box and the items in it fell out ! This really annoyed me ! I don’t know who to blame for this ! The only thing missing from my purchase was a small Allen wrench needed to install the thumb bar ( Kwick) . All of my content could have been lost if fallen out! How can I have confidence to order again by mail when my packages are being opened?

Easy set up and useful but gets in the way of cutting when using the knife

Well I am a life long user of buck knives. But I too found it more convienant to carry a ( work knife) a tactical, as well during my day.But low and behold I found this for my buck 110 and folks. It's the best idea since we invented the wheel. I now effortlessly open and close my 110 one handed. Have had it on my buck for nearly two years and absolutely no issues what so ever. If you love your Bucks, but need ease of a tactical. This is the holy Grail for you.im a maintenance engineer and use my Buck very often. And it does age with the knife folks so it isn't a eyesoer on a well used knife. But beware it is made for a thick spined knife such as Buck110/112/55 series.

I also have the Kwik Thumb Stud and think I prefer that overall. It's easier to get the right leverage with the Thumb Stud. With the Thumb Bar you have to kind of pinch with your thumb and forefinger on the other side. It takes a bit of practice, but now that I'm used to it, it't not too bad. If you have it on a knife with a strong spring, be careful! One nice thing: the Thumb Bar is lower profile that the Thumb Stud, so doesn't get caught as much on your pocket or scratch the back of your hand when you try to get something else out of your pocket.

This item is a must-have for a Buck 112 Ranger or other similar knife. I have always had trouble finding a knife to suit me, as I prefer the more "traditional" pocketknives over the new "tactical" ones. However, I often end up needing to open a knife one-handed. The thumb stud version of this product originally took my interest, but I found this and decided to try it instead. It looks perfect on a knife with brass bolsters, especially if it is put on when both the thumb bar and bolsters are equally polished and allowed to tarnish evenly. It allows you to have a traditional pocketknife with a better look than the big thumb stud and still be able to open it one handed. If I ever lose my Buck 112, I can guarantee you the next one will get one of these right off the bat!
