Getting Started With RFID

A Good Internet Article in Book Form
This book delivers exactly what was promised on Amazon, but the reality is that the same information could be easily learned from a free web page. I'm happy to support Make and the author as they serve the maker industry well. This is a perfect gift for someone starting out just don't expect a huge manual on RFID. It is just what the title says it is.

Good introduction into the world of rfid
This book is easy reading material about the RFID topic. Although I hoped for a better coverage of all RFID types, this book focused mainly on the parallax RFID reader. It is good to get started but it is not a in depth coverage of the RFID principals.

RFID getting started
I found this to be interesting. I would have liked more extencive details but they were not in this book. It did describe how to use an Arduino for RFID.

very little info, very outdated
Get "Making Things Talk" from which this is a subset. Much more info. Still very dated, but the concepts are good.

RFID primer to think about creating applications.
Good overall presentation of beginning to learn about RFID capability and to begin thinking about how you can use it.

Warning, this book is a sample
The information in this book is good, solid, but it is simply a sample of from the "Making things Talk" book. 26% of the 44 pages are promotional, encouraging you to "upgrade" to the "real" book. Good information, but in general, less than ethical.

A very very basic manual
It gives you a very easy and simple way to understand RFID using Arduino IDE and Processing, is not what i was expecting

very good book
Of what I have studied of the book so far, it is a very good book to help you with working with RFID

Very Dissapointed
I am extremely disappointed by this book. The book has 28 pages. The first 4 pages and the last two pages are almost non-informative mainly advertising websites. The rest of the book is again explaining what you need to buy in order to use a series of very unclear explanation, no circuit diagram and just cartoon figures of breadboarding. There are much better/clearer information available regarding RFID in most web sites. I am sending the book back immediately.

Alright but a bit lacking
Not really a book but more of an 'extended pamphlet' about RFID and it's uses.A bit disappointing really but if you're after an absolute basic understanding of what RFID/NFC is and some of it's uses/capabilities, then this is the product for you.

Not in depth enough
Really this is only a ‘primer’ on RFID. There’s nothing here that you can’t learn in 10-15 minutes with Google

Arduino and RFIDs book
This book answered most of the questions I had about the subject. So I was generally happy with my purchase. On the down side I felt it was a bit thin - more like a long pamphlet than a book. But then for £3 I guess I can't complain about that.

Sorry, waste of space
What the title, the cover, the picture, the extract don;t tell you is that this book is specifically about the Parallax RFID read only device ( outdated ?) , and that it doesn't cover the most popular Mifare cards. No good to me at all I'm afraid Signed Shafted of Swansea .
