Enjoy hours of Live Action Roll Play with the family with our Medieval Excalibur Foam Padded Sword 28 inch. It is totally safe and secure for children and a great item for Cosplay or conventions. It features a durable heavy duty foam construction. The 21 inch blade is made from durable dense foam with a gray finish and blood groove down the middle while the handle sports a black and silver finish with a round pommel with a cross. The blade core is made from plastic which has foam overlay. **Note:This Item is not meant for training or full contact, and may not be a LARP approved weapon. This is a very realistic looking sword and is great for play as well as movie props or costumes. Yes it is a made of a strong dense foam, it is semi-soft but you will feel it if you beat each other with it. It is also softer than wood or metal swords or Items, If you repeatedly whack/slash/beat metal, or wood, or brick, objects, you can rip the foam or rip the foam blade. The sword is very durable, but, Be aware it is not indestructible. The soft foam is designed for your own safety, in case someone hits a person with it etc. It is built to look good and realistic and be safe, and to provide hours of imaginative fun play.

wow
We bought this as a Christmas gift for our 9 year old who loves LARP with his older brother. We received the item promptly and I cannot express the quality of this sword. I would not suggest it to anyone who is looking to beat on things. (including people) It is made from a thick foam and has a solid core and is far more dense than Nerf. I know he is going to love this thing. I wanted to go ahead and write a review for those who might be in question. BUY IT!

broke in half first day of play...but BEAUTIFUL!
broke on first day of play for my 6 year old. It needs a longer inner core and then it would be perfect. It is gorgeous though...so pretty, shiny paint on the blade...nice for cosplay adults. I liked the sturdiness of it and the weight was a good hefty weight, yet it was soft and I wasn't afraid of my son hurting anyone too much ;). I will buy again, but hopefully, when it is on sale!

NOT for LARPing - mediocre design - good looks
The sword looks amazing, however, it is not meant for LARPing, no matter what the description says. The "core" stopped about 4 inches from the tip, causing the foam to tear after a few minutes of very light use. Even if this were not the case, the foam is incredibly dense... it felt more like hardened rubber than foam. In addition, the core was not in the center of the foam, leading to whelts if you struck someone with that side of the blade.I would only recommend this for hanging on your side at conventions. If I were to judge by looks alone, this would be a 4/5 stars. It had a few minor blemishes, but from 2ft+ away it looks real. But since it had LARP in the title, and that is what I bought it for, it did not live up to those expectations.

Got it for my 6-year-old son to play with. Looks good, unfortunately my 2-year-old got a hold of it and whacked it against the wood floor a few times and the foam tip broke off. Some glue and tape has it back on, but I was hoping it would be more durable.

I love the Excalibur sword I need another one
I bought 3 of these last year at christmas for my nephews, they loved them, I had to get one more for my neice this year. These swords are awesome, they look real, but are made of foam and are safe enough for the kids to battle with. The swords have lasted a years worth of battle. They love dressing up and running around, it is just good clean fun and imaginary play, they are just the right size.

Awesome great looking swords perfect for COSPLAY or costumes
These swords are awesome. They look like real ones but are strong and firm but not to hard unless you get crazy with them. They are great for costumes and cosplay. Probably not LARP approved. They are soft enough for kids unless they get wild, then they could leave welts but nobody is going to bleed ! the sword still looks awesomeI love it

a perfect stage sword but too hard for LARPing
this is a beautiful sword for stage work. well made, it looks great; but i wouldn't want to get hit with it. the foam is dense enough that it would definitely leave a bruise.
