Five egg- err... stars!
It works very well. I have no problem with it so far and I've had it for about a month and a half. It is modular so that is a good thing and it has a large amount of power. It's a good model overall!

Faulty or inadequate
This was to replace my Earthwatts 650 psu for a new system build. I am currently running:5hdd's (64gb SSD, (1) 1tb, (1) 3tb, (1) 320gb, (1) 120gb)1 Blu-Ray writer1 Radeon 7850Intel i5-3570k24gb RAM3 120mm fans in a Corsair Air Cube caseThere are alot of hdd's but aside from that this is not a crazy build. I have more memory and a R9 290 video card arriving soon and wanted to have more power available for the extra load. So, with the current build I put this 850 into the system. It will only stay powered for about 30min. before it shuts down. I disconnected 2 of the drives thinking it was pulling too much power (it had to be something) but this did nothing.I took this 850 out and put my 650 back in and have been running for hours since. I may have received a faulty unit. If so I cannot recommend this psu with concern for quality of craftsmanship. If it isn't faulty then it is just junk and you would be better served getting one from a company that produces consistent quality products.UPDATE: I finally managed to get this to work with my system after hooking up my Antec 650 watt PSU to power the drives (HDD's/Blu-ray). After about two months the 850 watt Xion died. First the fan siezed up overheating the PSU and killing the H100i cpu cooler (which has since been replaced). After a fan replacement (external) the PSU ran again but finally terminated. The majority of the system was safe because it was being powered by the 650 Antec Earthwatts PSU. Currently my Antec 650 is running my system with the hard extra hdd's disabled. This is not a quality PSU and really should be avoided.UPDATE: My entire system is now running on the Antec Earthwatts 650 watt PS INCLUDING the following items to my system and all HDD's enabled:32gb RAMreplaced the 7850 w/ MSI R9 290 4GB OC cardCorsair H100i CPU cooler w/2 120mm fansI have built computer systems for almost 30 years with more than 50 computers under my belt and this is the first PSU to die on me in this way and it's the first time I decided to NOT go with a brand I have always trusted. You get what you pay for so DON'T pay for this PSU.

Looks nice, comes with everything you need and works beautifully
This item is big and bulky. Looks nice, comes with everything you need and works beautifully. Can't wait to try it with some new games on ultra setting with the rest of my hardware.

Nice unit, heehee
SO I got this to replace the 650a I bought many years ago and thought why not go bigger for a good price. This guy is doing well(had it for several months now) and no glitches observed. I had it originally in my self-built computer until she decided to go on permanent vacation so I purchased a new computer and swapped out the unbelievably small PS (230w) with this one. I added my old graphics card and another hard drive with drop in performance. My only issue is that damn blue light. It is cool at first, but wish there was a little switch to turn it off at night instead of powering down the machine. Oh well, I guess if I keep my eyes shut while I sleep there wont be any issues lol. Hope this helps for anyone looking to buy.

Never Get this!!!
After just over two years of use this thing failed. And were not talking a mundane failure, this thing exploded... I'm still not 100% sure if it did any damage to any of my other components. I've gotta get a new PSU to fully see the extent of the damage this thing did!

Lights, lights, lights
I bought this bad boy for my 8 core rig. This thing has an LED at the bottom of it were the fan is and adds a neat addition to my already lit up machine. It comes with a handy little zipper pouch for wires that you do not intend to use. I only wish the 8 pin conector was longer. I like to hide my wires and this thing was shy about an inch from being able to run it behind my case. The reason I removed a star was the retail box that the machine was packaged in had a nasty rip in it. I like to keep all my retail boxes and this should have been sold as an open box sale. In that way I feel I was shafted. I did not send it back because I just did not feel like waiting for another and the one I got worked fine.
