Great product, AND it may have an additional benefit. See below.
This product does what is says it's going to do, and does it well. After 2 uses my pup already knows to stop when she see's me pick this up. It's possible this may be the solution to wandering coyotes that may be scared away with the loud zap and flashing light. Fortunately, I haven't tried it for that, but I carry it with me every night.

Ineffective And An Under-Powered Ultra-Sonic Sound Device ...
This product as a Dog Bark Deterrent is completely ineffective. Perhaps if the ultra-sonic sound (re: higher sound frequency known as Galton's whistle) was stronger and had a longer range distance, it could likely succeed in producing the desired or intended result of stopping a dog from barking.

Repels Teens and Wives but not dogs.
First off, for $15 I didn't have high hopes to begin with. When I got it I tried it out and we discovered both my wife and son can hear the tone. I cannot hear it but I have tinnitus pretty bad. I tried it on several dogs on my paper route and not a single one reacted as if they were bothered by it at all. However the Siren/Flasher function is pretty cool, the flashlight is very bright and it plugs into a USB port to charge. So it's still useful. I just don't expect it to do squat about dogs. I guess it's back to the pepper spray option and hope that a wacko dog owner doesn't sue me for spraying Cujo as it charges while angrily barking.

works!
I've had this item for about 28 hours. I've used the small round button for a high pitched ultrasonic sounds three times on my two very excitable, barky little dachshund mixes. They are VERY reactive. They bark at everything. They snarl at my five-year-old grandson, they bark at my daughter's dogs (who are not threatening), they bark at my four cats, they jump on me, they bark at every car and person who goes past our house. I've had these guys for more than a year, and they are not badly behaved, but I think they figured out that they can bully me. I have to shout at them to get their attention, and I really do not like shouting at them all the time. I am their third "forever home" and so they are, on top of being an excitable breed, very worried that I will abandon them. I won't...but I'd like to stop shouting at them, and I'd like some quiet. This device seems to really get their attention...and all they have to do is see that it is sitting next to me or in my hand, and they do not bark. So far this thing works great. I will post a addendum to my product review after I've had more experience with it, but this seems to be exactly what my dogs need to give me some peace. I don't expect to use it much, just keep in on my wrist as a deterrent. Seriously, I just spent several hours watching a movie with my daughter's family, and they didn't bark even once. I never had to use it, but they were clearly aware that I had it.

Right after the neighbors leave for work one of their three dogs barks NONSTOP until they come back in the afternoon.HOONT is the third unit that I bought. On the first two units that I boought the dog barking activates the ultrasonic bark control, I tried the different settings of the units and I put the units in different locations but the dog did not even decrease the barking. I even put the two units at the same time....together, separated, higher, lower, I tried every option but the dok kept barkingAfter using the first two different units I was loosing faith in ultrasonic pest control units. Then I bought the HOONT Dog Repeller BUT because you have to manuallly activate de ultrasonic frequency, I taped a piece of plastic over the pushbutton to keep the switch ON all the time, pluged the unit to 110 volt outlet with the included charging cable and installed the HOONT on the chain link fence that divides the houses and MAGICALLY the barking stopped completellyI'm in heaven now, I took over my house....I even feel sorry for the dog because he does not even come out of the house....THANKS HOONT!!

It doesn’t really work. More of a training aid than repellent.
I do Residential Service and run into a lot of Dog and the device does work maybe half the time. I can hear it whistling so I have to imagine it’s not high pitch enough. And a big aggressive dog it hardly works on. They do seem to hear it and take notice but it’s nothing like my dad had 20 years ago. My Dad’s ultrasonic device you could not hear at all and EVERY dog would turn tail and run from long distances and through fences and windows. This device does NONE of that. They gotta be 5 feet away no obstructions. I still have to keep a switch blade on me for the aggressive dogs.

No Good
USB charging port fails to charge. Port connection point becomes very unstable/weak making it VERY difficult and frustrating to charge unit. A waste of money!

Works through windows
My neighbor has a big uncontrollable dog that got out somehow and was harassing one of the cats I feed around here, just outside of my window. I tried the audible button and there was a definite "disturbance in the force" for this dog as it immediately got confused and moved far away from the cat. Being stubborn (and a dog) it came back after the cat and when I used the high pitched audible it was really affected. It quickly went outside of the yard and stayed there just looking and quietly grunting at the cat until the dogs' owner called it to come inside of the house. Don't get me wrong. I like both cats and dogs but watching this gizmo work on that silly dog was pretty gratifying. Therefore, adding my recommendation as one very satisfied customer.
