not for begginers
I bought this on the strength of having had 'Bottleneck Blues Guitar' for many years (in fact since hearing the original Kicking Mule release played by John Peel in the early '70s). Although the playing here is, as always with Mr. Mitchell, exemplary, this album doesn't have the raw excitement of the other. Sadly missed but not forgotten, Sam Mitchell was one of Britains great blues guitarists who never attained the fame of many of his less worthy contemporaries. His musical legacy should not be overlooked. That said, if you're new to his music, I'd recommend 'The Art of the Bottleneck/Slide Guitar' as a better starting point.
