I had no prior experience with Hebrew. I have quickly mastered the aleph bet and can read and write Hebrew as the book promises to teach.The book does have some minor errors here and there. There were letters I had not learned yet in reading work. It also does not teach you how to actually draw the strokes of the letters. I would fix that if I were the author. I had to look online for beginner Hebrew writing instructio help me to make sure I was writing the strokes correctly. If not for these small things, I would have given it 5 stars.This does NOT teach you to speak Hebrew or develop a large vocabulary. It doesn't say that it will so don't expect it. I also would have preferred to learn a larger Hebrew vocabulary instead of reading many pages of Hebrew transliterated English words. But that did help me as a native English speaker to know I was reading acurately.I have been watching Israeli movies and music on youtube to learn to speak with the correct accent and to build my vocabulary.I originally purchased this just to learn to read the Tenach in Hebrew, but you must buy other resources to build your vocabulary.

If learning to confidently read Hebrew is your goal, this is the ONLY book you'll need to purchase. As a native Israeli Hebrew teacher, Ruti Yudovich has the ability to help children and adults progress in learning to read Hebrew with boldness and confidence. I love how it is infused with information about Judiasm and Jewish holidays as context for the Hebrew language. I was so excited to discover this book that I sent my Hebrew teacher in Jerusalem a copy of it and the companion primer book to review and add to his library of resources. My teacher offered it high praise when he said, "I've seen many beginner Hebrew books, but this is one of the BEST I have ever seen." This book would be an excellent textbook for churches, synagogues or homeschool groups who want a solid point of departure for beginning the study of the rich and beautiful language of Hebrew. Kol HaKavod, Ruti...you have created a magnificent gift for Hebrew learners.

This book teaches you the alphebet from beginni g to end.

There is not much text on each page. The text is printed in cheap gray color and not in crisp black color. Many of the images are shotty, being pixelated. It only contains information for very beginning learners and doesn't really challenge you beyond preschool type Hebrew. Very poor.

Over the last 8 years or so, as a Hebrew student and now as a teacher, I have been exposed to a variety of Hebrew curriculum. By far, Learning to Read Hebrew for Real has been one of the best curriculum I have ever used! My students are succeeding in reading Hebrew much more quickly and efficiently this book, along with its companion Speak Hebrew for Real (Primer), than any other curriculum that I have used in the past. If you teach a beginner's Hebrew class, this is a must buy!

Questo libro è una sorta di numero zero, relativamente alla collana dell'autrice.L'intera collana è perfetta per riuscire a parlare l'ebraico quel tanto che basta per una "quotidianità" da turista prolungato in Israele.Questa recensione è personale: vuol dire che è ad hoc per le mie aspettative e per il mio stile di apprendimento.Suggerimento è di acquistare il primo libro della collana, per sperimentare "l'approccio". Quindi questo libro può essere il candidato ideale per chi ha zero ebraico alle spalle

El libro te explica en cada lección una letra del alfabeto hebreo. El libro está explicado en inglés, así que es indispensable saber inglés para seguir este método. Lo recomiendo 100%. Es recomendable comprar este junto con el libro speak Hebrew For Real: Primer, el cual va a la par con este libro y va introduciendo vocabulario nuevo.
