My old magic egg bought in 2016 has finally given up the ghost, This brand is excellent for kitchen tools etc. hence my choice, though there are cheaper versions out there. Great for boiling your eggs to just the right consistency for salads or breakfast with no need for a separate timer. Wouldn't be without this handy little gadget.

I have been using this egg timer for over a year now. It has performed perfectly every time providing me with soft or hard boiled, as I desired. At the price, I highly recommend this as a far better way than traditional timing methods. It seems to work by mimicking the density of an egg, changing colour from the outside edge. All you need to do is take the eggs out of the water as the colour change reaches the line marking your desired egg softness.

While I was initially sceptical about the efficacy of this item, that scepticism was proved to be entirely misplaced. The egg timer works really well. The first two attempts were a bit "hit and miss", in that one egg was cooked slightly over what I wanted and another was slightly under. But, now I have now got it right.What people need to remember is that the pan should be filled with cold water before the egg and timer are immersed. A medium soft egg is indicated on the time after about 9 minutes. Enjoy.

Surely a time should buzz when the required time is up, not 90 seconds before - useless for timing boiled eggs. The buzz lasts at most 2 seconds, again useless if you are doing something else. This timer was ordered on 13 January 2025 and was delivered today 2nd March - has it walked from China? I cannot be bothered to return it to Amazon, but I wanted to warn others that the timer is not fit for purpose. If I could give it no stars or minus stars I would

My elderly mum was starting to forget pans on the hob so I thought I would try this. It’s so simple to use, just twist the knob to the number of minutes you need and it slowly ticks by. No need for batteries or confusing computer programming. She keeps it by her side in the living room and when the time is up it gives a nice clear ringing sound. It has been a godsend for her.

Works fine but alarm bell is very short supposed to be 30 seconds long but only lasts about 5.
