Did notice that smell but not enough to stop me from wearing. Nice looking shoe but wouldn’t want to wear every day.

The shoes design is fine, however, it can be a little uncomfortable after wearing it for an extended period of time. Also, it has a strong odor and have to be set outside for sometime to air out.

(Edit at at the bottom)I am exchanging these shoes as they were too big. Giving this shoe company a second chance to see if the next pair smell or not. THE SMELL! For those who didn't get shoes that smell, you are lucky! So I thought it was a chemical smell. But no, it was heavy STRONG cigarette ash smell. Got all over my hands from just removing from the bag! I will report back if the second pair smell as well or not.I would add a half star and give it at 3.5 rating if I could. The second pair fit great! Only THIS time, the shoes smell like fireplace smoke. Granted wood fire is way bey3ter than cigarette ash. Would give the shoes 5 stars if it weren't for the smells. Using bakeing soda to try to rid the smell.

Shoes have a very strong rubber odor. The shoes were of a good fit and finish. A size smaller fit me better.

In the photo these Battle Men Men's Elevator Shoes look nice. And they do elevate (from the heel). I liked the cross-creasing in the man-made material below the lacing because that's going to happen anyway. But photos can be deceptive.I sent mine back because the lack of quality was evident. They look like they belong in those bins in discount stores holding hundreds of shoes. Truly produced en masse. The soles are passable. But the rest of the material is lightweight and rubbery like costume shoes. I don't recomend.

Love these! I just got them and they are one of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn hands down.

Happy with the shoes I should have gotten a half size smaller but that was my mistake
