Thickness is problematic...
On the plus side, it's beautiful and will protect surfaces for small casseroles.On the down side, this is an inch thick, much thicker than other trivets. That means for large hot pans and trays that would require 2 trivets, the dish is unbalanced and slides off on to the table. And it takes up too much room in my limited trivet drawer. It's just not as practical as I had hoped and I likely will give it away.
