I'm comparing this set with a standard tournament set, but they have different purposes, so only using it as reference.The pieces are a bit smaller and lightweight compared to a tournament set, that being set this has the added convenience of being much easier to carry around. The fact that it already comes with a pouch is a plus.Pros:Easy to carryWrinkle free board (when you store a tournament set it gets very bad until you flatten it out)Material seems durableCons:I prefer my pieces a bit heavierOnly one color option for the boardBoard is a bit smaller compared to tournament standard (perfect symmetry with the pieces)In overall a very nice set to carry around for a quick game that is not as bulky as your regular set. Fits nicely in any backpack without sacrifing too much the size. Would definitely recommend.

I wanted a set that had 4 different colors. Green,gold,black,white was as perfect as I have found. Letters and numbers are clear except for an 'e' on the white side. Some pieces have manufacturing defects but nothing you would notice playing. The black pieces for whatever reason have more noticeable defects up close then the white. The bottoms are well done; good quality. Pieces are on the lighter side although there is some weight to them. The knights have an excellent smooth feel. The opposite colors on top of the queen/king feel like they are there to stay. My major concern was how well the gold squares are printed on. Although unlikely it would be a bummer if I needed to wash it (tea,coffee what have you) and it started to peel like a cheap shirt with print on it. Also the board color is a bit lighter the the bag (the bag is not as dark as the pictures make it look) but that doesn't bother me much. It would have been nice if this was $15 instead of 20 due to defects on the pieces and the bag being a different color then the board. I'm not being sure of the print durability (yes I know it's only $20 but maybe an extra board? Or at least a warranty or something). One thing I would have added was some sort of anti-grip on the bottom if I was playing on a surface that was prone to slidding. Would I recommend it? I would. Like I said no color on the board is the same (white and green squares with white and black pieces on a vinyl board for example). Whole thing wraps up nicely and would fit easily in a back back and it more porable the a vinyl board with a tube. Gold looks elagant in contrast to the green. A bag to hold captured pieces. Just fold the board and put on top after you're done.

The fabric board chess set is good quality, the package is shipped very nice, and its portable, easy to carry and came with travel case. Very impressed. Would recommend if you are travel or go to the park.

I like this set a lot. I was very skeptical of the price but the quality/weight of the pieces justifies it to me. I do wish the mat was higher quality and the green/gold colors don't make sense to me.An important consideration: this set will not fit on an airplane tray table, the mat/pieces are too large. Also not great for backpacking on account of the weight. Otherwise perfect.

The board is printed wrong. In the game of chess, the board is positioned so the the bottom right square is white. The numbers then align with vertical axis and the letters align with the horizontal. This board is printed so that if you position it correctly for play, the numbers are on the horizontal. Don't buy this.

Simple item to have chess on the go. The fabric is durable but slides too much. Part of the portability makes it too easy to move around. You wouldnt be able to use it in windy or otherwise not ideal weather. The pieces are nice but not the best pieces I've seen. The bag included is handy for easy transport. Overall nice option if you like chess but travel quite a bit and a regular chess set is too cumbersome

Love how easy it is to use. The bag is a bit of a problem. It's too small for the box. I kinda bought it to transport the set in the bag with the box because the box doesn't have a latch to keep it closed. The box is also a simple cardboard box. I needed the bag. But it's fine. I'll find another bag.

Beautiful packaging gives it a premium feel, and I gave it as a gift to someone who likes chess, and appreciates luxury items. The chess play pieces are nice as well, but feel a little light. I understand this is probably to make the entire game portable, but slightly heavier pieces would have given it a really nicer feel
