Looks like just a better UI Display and more stitches?** A: Each higher model number (9960, 9980, 9985, so far) has more stitches and improves or adds in some way to the computerization. 9960 is an EXCELLENT machine. 9980 added a larger screen with an "advisor" component (troubleshooter/advisor built into the software). 9985 gave the advisor a VOICE, not just text on the screen, and of course added stitches. I went with the 9980 because the voice makes no difference to me, but I did want the advisor function. I will comment here that the MANUAL is exceptionally clear! There are some areas that Singer will always be "tops" at doing, and I would say that they are tops right now in writing the manual/introducing an "advisor," and in accessories they include. The accessories package with all of the 99xx machines is excellent, generous, useful, and worth quite a bit of money saved on extras!! **Q: Reviews and where can I find a manual so that I can read more about it. Is it like an embroidery machine also.** A: NOT an embroidery machine. No embroidery, however it does have the drop feed option allowing you the capability of free motion quilting and embroidery, thread painting, and darning. It has more stitches but it doesn't have extra feet/extension table.** A: I regret buying this only because it doesn't have the ability to add an extension table and the throat space is too small.for quilting. I loved this machine untill I got into quilting. Now I'm looking to buy a quilting machine but I can get a very basic model since this singer does literally everything and has every option !!
