Carolina Reaper Seeds (Red)

Pretty good germination rate
At first I was a bit worried because I don't have a green thumb and I read the reviews of low germination rates. These arrived, and I bought the additional components the seller recommended in the instruction sheet (coconut choir, etc). Then I said to myself that if it takes this much to get these going, it's not for me. In my first photo, the six peppers on the left of the hydroponics unit are these Carolina Reaper seeds and the six on the right are ghost peppers from another supplier. You can see I tested three of each type first. Those are the larger ones on each side. I got a total of 18 seeds so the other 12 went into the 15 pod hydroponics unit in the second photo with another three ghost peppers on the right. The vast majority have already sprouted with one being a little malformed, which is my fault for removing the seed that appeared stuck on it (yes, I'm an amateur). I can't comment on others saying these seeds produce a different pepper, but I can comment on a very reasonable germination rate. I certainly don't have a green thumb. I just stuck them in the hydroponics units and let them go.

95%
I got a 95% germination rate. It takes a long time for plants to mature. I started the plants under LED grow lights. When I set them out, cutworms chewed them off to a nub. I put solo cups with the bottom cut out around the stems. The same plants all survived. They are now three feet tall and covered with red peppers!

Finally something grew, but it wasn't Carolina Reapers
So after a season of trying to get anything to grow from these seeds other than just leaves (when they did finally grow), I finally was excited to beginning stages of peppers growing! YAY!, but wait there's more, as time went on, it was clearly obvious these were definitely NOT Carolina Reapers...unless my soil or the plant food I used is magic (I mean it is called Miracle Gro for a reason, I guess), I can't for the life of me figure out how after waiting months for actual peppers, I was growing Anaheim peppers... or something that looks extremely like anaheims.Maybe I got sent the wrong seeds, maybe my soil / plant food is a miracle magic gateway that takes one of the hottest peppers and turns them into one of the mildest peppers... who is to say... but it did produce (FINALLY), but sadly it do not produce the peppers that the seeds were sold as.1/5 since it did grow something after sooooo much time and effort, and the few anaheims it did produce made for a tasty snack, but sadly, I feel there may have been a mix up.Maybe next time I will not use the Miracle Grow, as I don't really need a miracle, just the pepper seeds that I ordered... although ordering seeds off Amazon, that may need a miracle to get it.

More seeds than expected!
Can with many more seeds than 10. Planted 8 of them and all but one sprouted. Did use plugs and a heating mat. They are currently growing well waiting for the weather to warm up so they can be planted outside. The package also comes with instructions on how to get seeds to grow with what I thought was nice. it said it could take up to a month to germinate but mine were fully sprouted after only a week and a half.May come back if I remember at the end of the season to update how they held up during the year. So far so good.Disclaimer: I do have experience growing peppers from seeds before and would not consider myself a beginner.

As advertised. Hottest pepper I've ever had.
I wanted to experience a Carolina Reaper raw but live in Alaska so was hesitant to order produce over the internet. I found Wayland Chiles Carolina Reaper Seeds (Red) on Amazon. I got a small envelope in the mail, with a zip-top bag with the seeds in it and a very sparse label. I'm not someone with a green thumb either, but I do have a small countertop aerogarden, so I threw them in and waited. Like some others, I had about a 90% germination rate. I currently have two plants mature enough to fruit. They flowered after about 3-4 months but germination took some fiddling with food rates and pollination methods. the flowers would just appear, open then drop off. In the end I've had the most success with just shaking the plant near the blossoms. I finally got some fruit growing and got to taste one. I put just a slice of one of these peppers on my tongue and it was instant fire. I eat "First we Feast Hot Ones" sauces (all 10 of them) regularly so I was expecting heat, but the intensity was a new level. The pepper settled in my belly as if I'd eaten a live charcoal briquette--I knew exactly where it was for the next six hours. NOT for the faint of heart, but if you like the rush, these will do the job.

Good germination
I wasn't so sure about buying these, and they gave very little seeds, about 12 in the package, however the germination rate was better than I thought it would be, and I now have a beautiful little pepper plant growing, I'm very content with this product

These are NOT Carolina Reaper seeds.
I received pepper seeds, but after growing them I discovered they were NOT Carolina Reaper seeds at all. They were some kind of generic chili pepper plant? Not much "heat" to the peppers. Also should mention that out of the whole package only one seed yielded a healthy plant, I've been successfully growing peppers for years so I know how to grow a pepper plant well. I was very disappointed with these seeds.

100% Germination
I am reviewing these seeds only a couple months after I started to grow them, so I do not yet know the flavour or if it is even truly Carolina Reapers. What I can say though is that I received about 15-20 seeds (I forgot the exact count), and spent about 2 weeks germinating them in a warm temperature controlled environment sealed in damp cotton cloths in a ziplock bag. All of the seeds germinated and I was very surprised and delighted given the small quantity I had to work with. Unfortunately while planting them into small cups, only about 2/3 of them survived to grow out of the soil. I had about 10 sprouts. As the sprouts grew bigger, 2 of them withered away. 8 of the remaining still stayed healthy and strong. As I moved them to bigger pots, another half of them withered away - most likely due to my mishandling of the moving and over watering. For an unknown reason, one of my 4 remaining sprouts withered away as well. Now I have 3 small pepper plants after almost 3 months since I first started growing them. They are quite large in size already and are healthy and green. This is my first time to grow peppers and I whole heartily expected only 1 or 2 to survive till the end. I don't have any grow lights and the sun is out by the window for only 8 hours here in Alberta, so they definitely have an uphill battle. Direct sunlight is only there for 3-4 hours a day. I am growing them mid winter indoors.Overall the seeds came all good from the tiny plastic packaging. They are indeed pepper plant seeds and I had quite a lot of fun growing them, even if all but 3 perished along the way. Would definite recommend

What did i get?
First impression were good and bad. first of all, I got 30+ seeds so i was stoked.the label is not most clear and not similar to the other pictures that are posted.what has me concerned??!!! as you can see from the photos. there is a 2mm by 2mm piece of chili in there. I ate it and it had absolutely no flavour at all. one would assume its from the broken carolina reaper.concern two is, after touching all the seeds by trying to count it, there was absolutely no chili residue on my fingers. as many of you know, once you touch seeds you cant really touch anything or else you will pay for it dearly. assuming CR is the hottest pepper in the world it would be even worse. BUT nothing. nothing at all my hands are perfectly fine and that is what i am concerned.if the 10 seeds i am trying to germinate grows and then i will figure out which pepper it is. i will modify my review. as of now. i dont 100% blame this company, i could have been just given the wrong package.
