If you like your bullet journal to be clean and no-nonsense, one that leaves a lot of room for your creativity, flexible layouts, and allows for your own systems to be used, this is a great notebook for you.The good news is, this notebook has no frills of any kind. No index pages, no page numbers, no date/day/month etc. prints in the header...nothing but a clean, unobtrusive dot grid page.The paper is significantly heavier than most other brand names on the market - a whopping 120gpm. That thickness feels almost like card stock, and while it's got a slight tooth, it's not rough or hard on pen tips. It's a nice, soft cream or vanilla color, not a bright arctic white. The dot grid on the page isn't so lightly printed it's hard to see, but's also not obtrusive or distracting.The bad news is, this notebook has no frills of any kind. That sword cuts both ways for me; while I like the flexibility of the clean, uninterrupted page, I do appreciate index pages and page numbering. In addition, it's slightly smaller than a standard A5 notebook, standing a touch taller and being some half-inch narrower. The loss of page real estate is something to be aware of before purchase.The books seem to be of decent quality. They lay flat when open, which is a good thing. The PU leather cover is nice and has a good feel. The pocket in the back cover is always a plus. The stitching holding the books together seems to be good quality, though only time will really show that aspect. But overall, a good, solid notebook at an excellent price.While I've rated it four stars due to not having page numbers, (again, only significant to me), I would still recommend this notebook to any bullet journalist. The quality of paper holds up well to many types of ink and the pen tests I did bore the evidence out. No bleeding, and very little ghosting, even with a Sharpie pen that lays down a heavy, metallic-ink line.If you want something straight forward to use for bullet journals or trackers, this book is a good choice.

I bought this journal based on the many positive reviews, and also because it offered pages that were 120gsm, and the price was certainly attractive. I wanted a journal with pages thick enough that there would be no ghosting, no matter what medium I used. In this respect, the journal delivered. However, the pages are super stiff, and I didn't realize the off-white creme color of this journal would bother me as much as it did. It also was 1/4" less in width than my previous Essentials journal. Nevertheless, I spent the last few days setting up the pages of this journal and was half way into next year when I realized the aesthetics of handling the thick pages was too much of a no-no for me. The pages felt chunky and so unlike a book. Guess I was looking for something with softer, more pliable feel, especially if I planned to journal in it daily.12/28/18 My previous comments were based on my experience with this journal after using it to set up almost half of my 2019 pages. However, I need to add this posting because of the most remarkable customer service I received in the last few days, first from Grace, then from Susan, the manager of Kogain. They have contacted me several times offering solutions in an effort to appease my dissatisfaction with their product, even to the point of offering to purchase a journal for me from another company! I believe their journal would be a perfect fit for those who planned to do watercoloring or a lot of art work on the pages. My earlier review gave them 3 stars. I have since amended it to reflect 4 stars, based on the wonderful customer service.

They both came with dents/bends in the bottom. This has made all the pages bent at the bottom and it's really irritating. I was so excited to get these and now I'm just disappointed. I haven't tried the paper out yet. Once I do I'll update my review, but I might not even be able to use these; too irritating to have those bends in each page.EDIT: I had decided to stick with it as the paper is thick enough and nice for writing, but I ran into a problem that has made this journal unusable for me. I've added more pictures to show that the dot grid doesn't line up from page to page. It isn't this way on all pages, but it happened on one that I was using the entire two pages for a spread so it really screwed me up. I'm getting a different brand.

With limited use, the journal appears to be exceptional. Pages stand up to normal writing with fountain pens with very little bleed through. I don't use markers so I can't speak to any bleed through with respect to markers. Very happy with the purchase and look forward to much more writing with them. The spine is a concern but seems to be holding up well, only time will truly tell as the use piles up. I would/will buy again.

I like that I can use the dot grids to design my own layouts. The cover is nice and smooth, it seems like a good quality notebook so far. I did try to use my heavy fountain pens on the pages and unfortunately there was the tiniest bit of bleed (not all the way through, thankfully the pages are not THAT thin!) but I prefer heavy duty paper and this is as stated 120 gsm. Still a great little notebook though!

I love this journal. The pages are decently thick without being bulky. The pocket on the back pocket is super helpful. The feel of the journal is amazing, smooth and lightweight. I am excited to continue using my dot journal. 5 stars from me for a job well done.

This journal is excellent in terms of being able to use it for anything. This is a great start for those who want to experiment with their own ideas about bullet journal. This is high quality paper and a attractive leather bound. A great alternative for Moleskin. <I say that as a moleskin enthusiast:)>Definalty comproable and a great piece without reducing the quality!Hughley recommend for scientists, bullet journal enthusiasts and those that need a Journal for a variety of uses!
