Extra Thick Auto Jute Carpet Padding-40oz-BY The Yard

I ordered some of this jute padding to install under the carpet and use for general sound deadening in my Dodge pickup as part of an interior restoration. I ordered four yards in total and that was about enough for all the things I needed it for.This stuff is thick and dense. I know it says 1/2" so I shouldn't be surprised. Its dense too and that makes it a bit difficult to cut. I couldn't cut it with a sheetrock knife but scissors worked. I bought a set of heavy duty kitchen scissors and they worked really well.I used some 3M foam adhesive to glue the jute in place and that worked really well. I cut the jute to shape with those scissors and glued it down where needed. It is easy to work with and conforms to complex shapes without wrinkles or tearing.In installed it between the headliner and the roof, behind all of the trim panels, under the carpet and even on the firewall. Everywhere I could install it without causing issue. My truck is quiet now and its given the interior a quality feel that wasn't there before. If you're taking the time to do this sort of thing, this jute padding will give you a quality job. I recommend it.

Used this to go under my carpet that I’m putting in my pickup, I really like this stuff it makes the carpet softer, and the cab quieter. Also helps the carpet mold to the floor. It is a little hard to cut, just use a new razor blade and you’ll be fine.

Nice padding, doesn’t smell and wasn’t coming apart. Used under main carpet along with sound deadening and kinda soft foam for grip.Kinda did over kill for a project.

Thick and plush and VERY mailable. I was able to double fold this over itself without having to cut out in the foot well corner areas. No noticeable bulges through carpet. Really goes where you want it. I would recommend using some heavy duty sheers to cut it, although regular kitchen sizzors work fine it’s just more work.

Strong material, but still gives nice cushion under the carpet.

The product was a bit thinner than other products of the same size.However it was easy to work with and shape to corners of my floor.Good quality. Would buy again.

This product is thick enough to use under the carpet in my car. Also good sound proofing.
