Stride Rite TMNT Radical Reptiles Lighted Sneaker (Toddler)

We purchased this shoe for our 3 year old son who loves ninja turtles. When they arrived they looked great and we were surprised that they also lit up. He's only worn them intermittently for 2 months and the shoes are frayed and the velcro no longer latches to itself causing a trip hazard. It also looks as if the base of the shoe is peeling off.... I wish I could rate it higher and hope our experience is not common because these shoes are adorable... but at this point I'm pretty dissatisfied with the product and would have picked a different TMNT shoe for his birthday.

Initially the shoes were a hit, they were ninja turtle and lit up. However, after three weeks the Velcro was not sticking anymore and was a distraction for my son as he would get upset that the strap was flying around, which made it unwearable. Everything else was great. But unfortunately the Velcro strap is an important part of the shoe and it did not last for us.

If I could give these shoes a zero I would! Velcro on closure stopped sticking about 2 weeks into wear, despite appearing to be in good shape. I’ve purchased easily 30 pairs of stride rite over the years for my kids and these are by far the worst purchase. Very disappointing for a Stride Rite shoe.

Very disappointed. I bought these to replace a pair of Made2Play shoes I bought in February that my 2.5 yo has already worn out in the big toe area. Little did I know that in ONE DAY these would start to look the same. One day???He loves these shoes though, and I hate to order another pair if this happens so easily.**Edit to add that the Velcro stopped working while we waited for a new pair to arrive. Low quality shoe and not at all like the Stride Rite we know.

My little guy loves these! They light up with every step and he loves that he gets to choose which color will be showing on the eyes each day he velcros them. I love that we don't have to deal with shoe strings and that there's not that much ninja turtles decor on them. My son has a high arch, a wide toe base and wears orthotics. These fit perfectly for us. We did order the wide size.

My son loves these and has received many compliments from other kids. We are on our 2nd pair as he refused to wear other shoes. . . Sometimes the Velcro strap comes loose, but he doesn't even notice when it does until I point it out.

Like many others said the velcro wears out quickly. I did not show my son how to flip the faces for fear that the constant interest in that might make the velcro fade faster. That being said after 1 month they wouldn't stay on 1 side, not very hopeful for the other. Normally love striderites, they last for as long as his feet grow...these were cute but a miss.

Lights work.. Although I have read from reviews they quit working very soon.. So far, all lit up.. Not as wide as I would have liked, but they seem to fit fine. The strap no longer sticks.. They are constantly coming undone.. He has had these shoes less than a month, and hasn't worn them that much, because its still winter here, so he mostly wears his little hiking boots.

Sole is damaged after two weeks
