Le Sorelle, LLC was founded in 2012 by two Pugliese-American sisters, Donatella Lorenzoni-Lopez and Anna Lopez-Carr. We provide American consumers with EVOO whose purity and quality are guaranteed. While many supermarkets commonly retail "extra virgin olive oil" "bottled" or "produced" in Italy, over 60% of this oil comes from substandard olive trees, has been mixed with oil originating from other countries or seeds, or has been tainted with impurities. In contrast, local Pugliese producers remain virtually unknown despite their superior oils. Not only are they making premium EVOOs, but they are also producing different EVOO varietals, each with particular qualities and preferred food pairing. Le Sorelle sprouted from this opportunity in the American olive oil market Le Sorelle acts as a culinary ambassador to the American consumer looking to expand his or her knowledge and experience of gourmet foods. We want to educate our consumers about Pugliese EVOO. Olive oil is so important in Puglia that it goes by the name olio santo, or holy oil. Puglia's rich, limestone soils and coastal climate add place specific qualities to our olive oils that fully express their premium aromas, taste, and health-inducing properties. Le Sorelle's oils are exclusively selected from boutique estates in Puglia that control the entire production process from harvest, to press, to bottling. With intimate knowledge of the language, culture, and territory, we have personally vetted these farms and have cultivated close relationship with these families. Most of Le Sorelle's suppliers have earned national and international recognition for their product, and have been highly praised in Tom Mueller's Extra Virginity: The Sublime and Scandalous World of Olive Oil (2012).
