Durable Punch for your Dollar
I shopped for a while for a wireless speaker to use while cycling. Headphones are too dangerous, and wired speaker boxes are just a hassle. After considering several units similar to this one, I settled on the RuggedTec #StrapSound, which seemed to offer a nice pairing of function and durability. The unit is compact enough (about 2" around and 3" long) to fit most anywhere as advertised, but it packs a surprising punch for it's size. Many other reviews of this unit and others like it complained about low bass response, which is to be expected from a small driver like this, but I was pleasantly surprised both at how dynamic the frequency response is (including bass) and how loud the little sucker gets! In recent test rides, I was able to hear my music (not even turned up to max) during several 30+MPH downhill runs. The Bluetooth has a very strong signal receiver, and I can leave my iPhone inside the house and carry the speaker outside to the patio or yard without any noticeable signal degradation. My only caution would be that the included strap for attaching to whatever is strong but not bulletproof; users should be cautious not to over-stretch as it could break. <--UPDATE - After a year of use and being strapped to all kinds of stuff, these straps are stronger than they appear. I've yet to find a situation where I can't make the strap work in one configuration or another.Overall, I see no reason at present not to award the full 5 stars, as this product has exceeded my expectations and made our long cycle rides, cookouts, hikes, and numerous other activities that much more enjoyable.

Little speaker big punch!!!
This little speaker packs quite a punch! Just used for the first time this weekendon a kayaking trip. Was easy for all in party to hear . Strapped to my paddle very easily and did not move around. Was a pretty rougj trip water splashing so speaker got a bit wet but came through it just fine. Also it paired with my phone very easily! All in all i am very pleased with this speaker and will recomend to anyone looking for a great , small ,easily mountable bluetooth speaker.in fact my buddy tried to steal this one so looks like i may be buying him one next!!!

If you're thinking about it, consider it, then buy it!
There's no reason to not pick this product! It does absolutely everything you could ever want it to do for the perfect price! Its surprisingly loud for its size and even at 20 mph, you can hear your music. Its funny when i ride past someone and they realize that its me with the music. I haven't properly tested the battery life but i can assure you that it probably does exactly as the advertised 6 hours. The strap works surprisingly well. i thought it wouldn't be able to handle sprints, since i mount it on the top tube of my bike, but even as my knee touches it, it doesn't fall off. Very simple yet effective way of putting this little guy on almost anything.I rode with this thing on for at least 3 rides (roughly 1.5 hours each) without charging it, and even as I heard the low battery warning beep it kept on playing for at least 20 more minutes. Granted it was a tad annoying, but its nice to know you only have a few minutes left with music, so you can ride harder. Charging is pretty fast, around 1-2 hours. I even rode with this thing while there was a light shower and absolutely nothing happened to it. Bluetooth connection is good, seeing that there isn't any lag due to the distance (ipod is in my back pocket). I used it once at a distance of around 10 ft, and no significant difference was noted. If i had something negative to say about the Strapsound is that the cap that covers the aux port and usb port is flimsy and pops off with the slightest bump. It doesn't affect the sound or its "ruggedness" i believe, but something more sturdy would be greatly appreciated from the manufacturer. The three buttons are a little hard to find sometimes because they are "engraved" in the rubber, so perhaps extruding the buttons would be better suited for this product, although personally i dont find it a big deal. The sound is also not of amazing quality, with a clear absence of the lows, and some of the highs. You could only expect so much from a speaker of this size though, so im not too concerned about this flaw. But i didn't buy it because i wanted quality sound, I bought it to play music while on my bike, and this product goes above and beyond in that category. Its even good at adding music to moderately sized rooms and the outdoors.Overall, I am overly satisfied with this product. So much so that I had to write a semi-extensive review on it. All this thing needs to do now is to be fully submersible, as well as the rest of the ruggedtec lineup. 5/5, great product RuggedTec! Keep up the good work!

Best Ever
This is the best portable speaker around for a bike. Trust me on this. I use this little speaker on my commuter bike in Oregon 5 days a week... Was worried it wouldn't hold up against the rain here. However, this thing took Oregon's best shot and just keeps on jamming. Have had so many people ask me about it. If you like tunes, if you like biking, buy this today and thank me tomorrow. ;)

Great speaker for what it does but comes with a very poor quality strap.
Only 4 stars because of the awful rubber strap.Sound is very good for a single speaker. NO you won't get great bass or stereo sound but this little can is LOUD.My only complaint, like many others, is the rubber strap they give you. Seems to be the same cheap, Made In China rubber strap other similar products are using. It does a mediocre job of holding the speaker on the bike and it does not last.

Great durability, poor volume amplification for cycling needs, limited product orientation without hacking provided straps
You get what you pay for. The amplification was not enough for both a riding partner and myself to enjoy what was being played even without passing cars. I originally wanted to attach this to my seat post in a vertical position. The rubber strap mechanism prevents this as it would need to unnaturally twist to accommodate that orientation.
