Hicarer 2-1/8 Inch (55 Mm) Quartz Clock Insert

My wife wanted a clock for her music room. This clock is 2" across and made to be inset in a hole. We designed the case and I made it out of wood. My wife loves the clock. It is easy to read from across the room. It is made of metal and glass. Many similar clocks on Amazon were plastic.

I was searching for a small analog clock to put in our RV so my husband could see the time while driving. I didn’t want a permanent fixture, so I attached this clock to a suction cup. He can see it clearly and it is the perfect size. Great price for a great product.

I guess I got a year's use out of it. And I liked it for that time. Elegant, small, kept time well. But what good is a clock if you can't change the battery? I see somebody's review here saying they took it to a watch specialist who had some tools evidently to pry off the back. But I'm not going to spend the money for all that (I haven't even seen a watch repair shop in years) – just to replace the battery on this inexpensive clock. There is a sticker on the back with a warning triangle with an ! inside it, hovering over a battery. What does that even mean I wonder? Alert – there is a battery inside? Or Alert – you'll never get this battery out? I'm good at doing small/detailed things, and I tried for a while, but ended up needing to stop before I gouged my palm with my small screwdriver. Frustrating when things are so disposable. More landfill. Argh.

We got 2 of these. We live full-time in our motor home (love it), but never did have a clock that I could see while driving, nor have one easy to see in our bedroom. These were the thinnest and lightest I could find, and we velcro'd one to the dashboard, one to the bedroom wall right under a light. So far, so good. The hands could have a little more contrast so they're easier to see when light reflects off the crystal. They seem to be keeping time well. How they hold when we're driving down the road remains to be seen - that's the primary reason we got them. OK, addenda: I still like them very much. Velcro'd to the dashboard or by the head of our bed, they're great. I see others have downgraded them for shorter battery life. Yeah, the battery on one gave out after less than a year - 10 months maybe? But here's the thing. I took that one to a Batteries Plus and paid $25.43 (incl 6% sales tax) for a lifetime battery replacement. But a whole new set of 2 to replace would have cost about half of that. (Should have checked replacement cost before battery cost).

The clock on an award piece face cover broke and there is no replacement available. This clock is really much nicer than the original. It has a great, easy to read face and fit perfectly. A terrific find.

The first one arrived had a second hand disconnected and laying in the bottom of the face. I returned it and got a new one. Second hand was connected and clock works. Okay clock, just cheap Chinese quality.

I used a hole saw and installed this beautiful little clock in our RV next to the stereo. Makes me smile each time I look at this handsome clock.

I used it to make a Smiths M3 motorcycle clock. It works well.
