KeelGuard by Megaware - Boat Hull Protector (Choose Length & Color) (White, 12')

I followed the instructions with the product. Cleaned and brushed the boat used alcohol. Used the epoxy attached the keel guard and went over and over it to make sure I had a good bond. 6 days later I put my boat In the lake and I pulled up on shore to park the truck and when I finished fishing for the day I did the same to get the trailer back in the water. Boat cam out on the trailer with NO KEEL GUARD. So not sure which of the two times I could have possibly used the keel guard it was that it fell off. However it did in fact fall off. With almost nothing left to show it was ever on except a few sticky black spots from the adhesive backing. Total junk don’t waste your money. I should have just took the money and threw it in the lake. At least that way it would have been far less effort. One star because you have to give a star. Actual rating negative 5 stars. It didn’t last a single day. Not one day

I bought a boat that had some keel damage but not extensive. I did repair the area with glass and gel but wanted to protect it more. The repaired area was not large and this keel guard covered the area well into the original gel coat. I used a ten foot keel guard on a 21 foot bass boat. It was not hard to do if you take your time and follow the directions completely. I have been waiting for warmer weather and yesterday was it. I marked the area for the keel guard then taped the entire area off for prep. Once this material is stuck it is stuck. Very adhesive as mentioned. Since I taped entire area I peeled the tape off the boat as I worked each side of the guard. This was just in case the guard covered the tape by a slight bit. I could tell even laying the material how strong a bond it is. I don't see any way this is coming off. I have not put it in the water yet but I plan on that soon.

I put the 4' protector on my 15' Arima, it protects her old hull where I like to back in and launch on a semi-primitive community launch. Even with some rocks, I am not concerned about damaging the hull when we nose up to the beach to load/unload passengers. Applying the guard went smoothly; the only thing I would have done differently would be to get the 6' or 8' size instead.

I like the thickness of the guard but I would not waist my money on this product. I purchased 2 of them and what a waist. Followed direction to a "T" only to have on come half way off on the first run. Only half stuck. The second one last for 2 runs. Very disappointed with the purchase. Even more so since I lost out on twice my money. Now I have to get a special cleaner to take off all the rubber that is still stuck to my hull.

Product did not hold up. Only lasted a couple of weeks and then from beaching boat it started to come apart. After 4 weeks of coming on and off beaches keel Gaurd was messed so bad that it will have to removed Product was installed per instruction. This product may work for light use on sandy beaches but not for heavy use on varied beaches

Not to much to said, its a great add and protection for your boat. Do not hesitate, it would give peace of mind. Installation — hardest part was marking the area and placing the tape after that piece of cake. Follow the instructions, step by step and you will be ok!

Great product, and easy to Install. Only took about 45 minutes. The day after I put it on, it got hung up on one of the boat trailer pads and stopped the boat while backing it off ( I was too shallow ) It didn't even budge it, it stayed right where I put it.

Awesome product. Heavy butyl rubber with the strongest sdhesive Ive ever seen. Clear directions. I bought a 5' piece and still best to have a helper do the install.6
