Used on a desktop pc. Was using an EdiMax EW-7811Un wireless adapter for the past year, but started noticing quality issues after moving my desktop around different rooms. Even though the edimax and my router was rated at 150Mbps max, I could barely hit 54Mbps on the router, usually fluctuated between 20-30s Mbps. After I connected the Netis (No drivers necessary for the RealTek Chip in Win OS), it promptly set to 150Mbps. Even more interesting is that I can now pick up signals from other suburban homes more than 100 feet away. The best feature with this wireless adapter is the signal strength. Physical size of the adapter is average and comparable to most other adapters. Length is a little shy of 3.5 inches (8.89 cm), Width about 1 inch (2.54 cm), and height is about the size of a fresh stack of post it notes (1.14cm) The antennae measure a bit over 7.5 inches (19.05 cm). in total, it is about 9.5 inches in length (24.13 cm). Review: be sure and password protect your wireless network - too many bad guys out there that look for open wireless networks ... - Off brand item and I almost didn't order it. The WiFi transmitter/receiver on my wife's older Dell laptop which is used only as a desktop computer anyway died and rather than go get another laptop, I checked for USB WiFi adapters. Saw this one, ordered it and had absolutely no problem installing it. Plug it in, load the driver from CD, reboot the computer and join your network. If not already done, be sure and password protect your wireless network - too many bad guys out there that look for open wireless networks to usurp. One nice advantage of this one is its range. I work at trade shows and usually have to fiddle with laptop positioning to use the WiFi in those huge buildings. The added transmit power/receive sensitivity and the twin antennas make that a lot easier so I ordered a second one to carry with me when necessary. ## Features - Wireless N speedup to 300Mbps, ideal for online gaming, video streaming, and VoIP phone calling - Advanced security feature with the latest WPA2 encryption to protect the network - Access Point feature to set up a Wi-Fi hotspot to share the Internet - Supports advanced 2 x 2 MIMO Technology with up to 300Mbps data transfer rate - Double 5dBi External antenna for better wireless coverage ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B006THNH7Q | | Best Sellers Rank | #1,333 in USB Computer Network Adapters | | Brand | Netis | | Built-In Media | CD driver, Cradle | | Color | 300 Mbps High Gain | | Compatible Devices | Desktop | | Compatible Operating System Family | MacOS, Windows | | Customer Reviews | 4.0 out of 5 stars 378 Reviews | | Data Link Protocol | USB | | Data Transfer Rate | 300 megabits_per_second | | External Testing Certification | FCC, CE | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00088591200399, 06951066950393 | | Hardware Interface | USB, USB 2.0 | | Item Weight | 8 ounces | | Manufacturer | Netis | | Mfr Part Number | WF2116 | | Minimum Required Operating System Version | Windows 7 | | Model Number | High Gain | | Number of Items | 1 | | UPC | 163120318858 088591200399 801964416872 012303771792 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Warranty Description | 1 year | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Netis - **Color:** 300 Mbps High Gain - **Compatible Devices:** Desktop - **Compatible Operating System Family:** MacOS, Windows - **Data Link Protocol:** USB - **Data Transfer Rate:** 300 megabits_per_second - **Hardware Interface:** USB, USB 2.0 - **Item Weight:** 8 ounces - **UPC:** 163120318858 088591200399 801964416872 012303771792 - **Unit Count:** 1 Count ## Images ![Netis Wireless N 300Mbps Long-Range USB Adapter with Two 5dBi Antennas and USB 2.0 Cradle (WF-2116), 300 Mbps High Gain - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51KBruSr-YL.jpg) ![Netis Wireless N 300Mbps Long-Range USB Adapter with Two 5dBi Antennas and USB 2.0 Cradle (WF-2116), 300 Mbps High Gain - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71EGLIHCm0L.jpg) ![Netis Wireless N 300Mbps Long-Range USB Adapter with Two 5dBi Antennas and USB 2.0 Cradle (WF-2116), 300 Mbps High Gain - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/718pKUa-GlL.jpg) ![Netis Wireless N 300Mbps Long-Range USB Adapter with Two 5dBi Antennas and USB 2.0 Cradle (WF-2116), 300 Mbps High Gain - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/31uQPKsMB+L.jpg) ![Netis Wireless N 300Mbps Long-Range USB Adapter with Two 5dBi Antennas and USB 2.0 Cradle (WF-2116), 300 Mbps High Gain - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/31xSFRuT7vL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice buy, give it a try *by V***C on June 30, 2015* Amazing gadget. The wifi on the old system was terribly slow (dialup speeds) and I hoped this would help. Initially, t didn't - the slow speed on wifi turns out to be typical of Ubuntu. After an Ubuntu update both adapters started working better - they are now about as fast as windows systems, but still drop the connection every few hours (again, this is Ubuntus issue). This adapter still only show 2-3 bars of power - like the old one - but tests about 20% faster on speedof.me. Not bad. ## Frequently Bought Together - Netis Wireless N 300Mbps Long-Range USB Adapter with Two 5dBi Antennas and USB 2.0 Cradle (WF-2116), 300 Mbps High Gain - TP-Link AC600 USB WiFi Adapter for PC (Archer T2U Plus)- Wireless Network Adapter for Desktop with 2.4GHz, 5GHz High Gain Dual Band 5dBi Antenna, Supports Win11/10/8.1/8/7/XP, Mac OS 10.9-10.14, Black - TP-Link USB WiFi Adapter for PC(TL-WN725N), N150 Wireless Network Adapter for Desktop - Nano Size WiFi Dongle for Windows 11/10/7/8/8.1/XP/ Mac OS 10.9-10.15 Linux Kernel 2.6.18-4.4.3, 2.4GHz Only --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.be/products/8861185-netis-wireless-n-300mbps-long-range-usb-adapter-with-two](https://www.desertcart.be/products/8861185-netis-wireless-n-300mbps-long-range-usb-adapter-with-two) --- *Product available on Desertcart Belgium* *Store origin: BE* *Last updated: 2026-10-03*
