Teaches important concept subtly and with humor
I love this little book and so have my grandchildren. The illustrations are simple black and white and there are few words because not many words are needed in this book that teaches that all our individual actions have consequences. I did not need to explain anything to my grandsons of various ages; they all got the message! The illustrations are fun as well. Highly recommended.

Good lessons
This book is exactly as I remembered it as a small child. It provides a clever funny, and artistic way to teach good lessons about doing what is right and how one person's individual act can impact the rest. How to set a good example. I love it. My grandkids loved it. It stands the test of time.

Tries to teach your kids something they might not care about
This book is a classic - my mom got it for us when we were kids, and now I have a copy for my kids. The lesson it tries to teach is a good one, and the illustrations are sufficiently silly. They remind me of the ones from Edward Lear. If you really want your kids to GET IT - about not picking the flowers, stepping on Daddy's feet, splashing everywhere - they won't. They are kids. They think the book is funny, and then they go tracking mud through the house, leaving their toys where everyone will break a leg, jumping over the furniture. I would sooner get this book from the library, read it and enjoy it, and return it. By purchasing it I had higher hopes of the message actually sinking in. I think that dream is likely to become a reality closer to adulthood. In the meantime, the book sits on our shelf as a perpetual reminder of my failures to cleverly trick my kids into being clean and thoughtful all the time instead of some of the time.

Timeless classic for me
"If Everybody Did" was THE first book that I learned to read in the 1960's in our small-town local library. As a youngster I especially liked the illustrations. The story in the book lists bad things that people do and what would happen if "everybody did" it. Like squeezing the cat, not wiping their feet after walking in mud, and others... I have probably bought this book at least 6 times over the years for children, because it was my favorite and I wanted to share it with others.

Amusing illustrations bring home an important lesson for children of all ages.
I shared this book with my own sons 25 years ago. The kindergartners I showed it to recently were just as engaged by the pictures and the point. This is a picture book to read with children, not one to expect early readers to read independently.

Fun but loaded with good lessons
This book was a staple in my childhood and became a launching pad for many conversations. We now read it with my son and it’s wonderful. Fun but loaded with good lessons.

Great to use with children in school
This will be very useful to use with children at the beginning of term to introduce the setting of class rules. I will also read it to my own son who I'm sure will really enjoy it.
